Beautiful old decorations and interior design is the pearl of this property. Everything inside is wonderfully renovated and the property is kept very clean.
I didn't realize when I booked it that there are no private toilets per room. There are two (small) shared toilets/showers. It didn't bother me much in the end and the toilets are right next to the room but it's important to take into account when booking the property.

We stayed at the Wanhan Apteekin majatalo when we were visiting Savonlinnan Oopperajuhlat. It was very convenient to stay there. The hostess is charming, and she was very flexible and showed great customer-service as we were forced to have a very late check-in. She were patiently waiting for us to arrive close to midnight. Excellent breakfast! Interior of the hotel is very cute. Easy parking. Would definitely recommend!

Great location not far from Savonlinna and in the famous Kerimki village. I was really impressed with both exterior and interior of the hotel. Even in-door and on-window locks look authentically. The breakfast is tasty and provides a variety of meals typical for such kind of facilities. Room was clean and well served for me at the moment of arrival. I've noticed the hotel is quite popular as there was a noticeable number of quests There is a number of POI in there, first of all, the Kerimki kirkko. It definitely worth to visit
Just two things could be improved somehow I guess. First, as it a historical building, there is no AirCon, and it is reasonable But anti-mosquito net on the windows could be definitely welcomed (or, may be, some kind of fumigator) And there is no lock inside a lavatory / shower room, so you need to check if there anyone inside (by knocking, or checking shower sound)

The host was very friendly and welcoming, it is so rare to actually see a person and not a key box! She was helpful, and very arranging, as she made breakfast early because we had to leave really early (btw very nice breakfast).
The place was lovely and well decorated.
