Located by the waterfront of Katajanokka, Scandic Grand Marina is housed in 1920s Art Nouveau building and offers free WiFi, sauna, gym and a 24-hour on-site shop. Very Good
The room is spacious. The location is great with walking distance to most tourist sites and the area is quite. The twin bed is okay. The breakfast is nice with many options for fruits and the current cafeteria has a wonderful view of the port.
The sound proof of rooms can be improved but tolerable. The facility is a bit old however the hotel was a warehouse for coffee and rubbers, so it is also special.

Disappointing
Our experience as a family of four staying at Scandic Grand Hotel Helsinki on 2-3 February was unfortunately far below expectations, especially considering the harsh winter conditions. Check-in problem: We arrived around 14:00, exhausted and coming in from –16°C freezing weather. The reception staff told us check-in was only possible at 16:00 and requested an extra early check-in fee, even though Room 412 was already ready. In such extreme weather, this felt unnecessarily rigid and lacking basic hospitality. Room issue – leaking shower: The most serious problem was in Room 412. After taking a shower, we discovered that the shower cubicle was leaking, causing the entire bathroom floor to flood with water. This is clearly a maintenance issue and creates inconvenience and potential safety risk. No in-room phone: There was no landline phone in the room to contact reception. To report the issue, you have to leave the room and go downstairs through long, complicated corridors just to locate the lifts, which is frustrating and impractical when dealing with a room problem. Breakfast location problem: Breakfast is not served in the hotel building but in another building across the road. In normal weather this may be acceptable, but in –16°C, guests must put on full winter clothing (coats, hats, gloves) and cross a two-way road just to have breakfast. This was highly inconvenient and uncomfortable. Overall: The combination of rigid check-in policy, poor room maintenance, lack of in-room communication, and inconvenient breakfast arrangement made this stay disappointing. In Arctic winter conditions, guest comfort and practicality should be a higher priority.

Nice family room style hotel. Good location for walking from ferry terminal to hotel. Also very easy walk to the downtown area. Close to sauna-bath house and restaurants. The breakfast was nice and staff very friendly.

I was staying their for 7 days Breakfast was good... variety of choices Town area Easy to take the tran.
Room was standard, did not like the fact they they dod not clean it daily because they wanted to protect the environment, this should have been an option for clients. Staff did not even take out trash, did not refill amenities. Staff were mostly nice.

No gym or sauna or restaurant facilities due to current construction/renovations. We were not made aware of this until check in. Breakfast is held across the road in a conference centre ie not on the premises.

Wonderful
Hotel is located in the beautiful red brick historical building, big and a bit maze-like. It is a bit to the side of the city center, just 10 minutes away from bustling shopping streets. Ferry station is just outside, which was the reason for our hotel choice. Rooms are a bit old, but have everything that you need for a short stay. Breakfast was nice and decent, nothing surprising, good quality.

Breakfast was very good. Location was excellent. Lounge area was very good. Clean overall.
Small room. The mattresses were thin and we had two separate beds and the mattresses were moving all the time. Furniture and bathrooms outdated.

Pleasant
Breakfast was nice. The food was bland. The menu stayed the same throughout. This is not a major complaint. We took the ferry to Talinn. It was nice that the ferry wharf was within walking distance of the hotel, so we did not have to pay for a tax.
The towel warmer did not work. We would have liked to use it. The WIFI on the 2nd floor did not work, This was an incovenience because we missed work-related emails.

Nobody let me know when I booked hotel that there will be work in the hotel... So the craftsmen woke me up every morning at 7 am with pounding and stomping.

The staff was exceptional, really friendly and helpful. A special thank you to Lida, who helped me find my residence card that I accidentally left in the hotel really fast, I won't forget the commitment and the hurry that she put to find it with such urgency and for sending it back to Estonia.

The room was great and the breakfast also! The sauna section was also nice and I like the area right at the city centrum but still also next to the sea
All good, but the gym is bit wornout. It has been good hotel gym and there is dumbells and machines, but some of the machines are now past their prime. I would workout there again, but hopefully with small investment they will upgrade in a moment.
