Fabulous hotel. Much more than expected for price. Bar staff were excellent, really making every drink and interaction perfect. Great buffet breakfast. Rooftop pool and restaurant were very, very nice.

The hotel is obviously an old property, while its very clean, the bathroom needs some updating.

Location good, very central and walkable to centre easily. We have been here three times.. Rooms nice , clean and good sized bathroom - more spacious than bedroom!. All staff very nice. Reception area and staff nice. Rooftop area good , and facility of pool great when you could have access ( albeit a small area for size of hotel and number of guests)
As a four star hotel we felt the rooms a little small especially if you have a good sized suitcase/ luggage. Our bed was two singles put together. We put up with this. Room onto street was noisy at night and noisier than we remember having stayed here before . Requires better soundproof windows. We eventually did not enjoy the cafeteria style breakfast. Again for 4 star there was too much queuing and it did not feel particularly special. I think all these basement places lack a lot of character. The dining room upstairs seems underused by comparison.
Our main issue was when by pool there was difficulty getting a seat/ lounger at times so that was a bit of a lottery. For the first time since being here over a few years now , we felt we had to comment to Reception ( to be passed to management) re the loud and intimidating behaviour of various male ' groups' who would loudly dominate the space in and around the pool , with at times quite boorish behaviour, swearing etc. one group was drinking a good deal , the other ,on another day not. So alcohol not always the problem. We were informed that the bar staff at the pool should be informed and they would deal with it, but why should they, they are young and possibly not well enough paid to wade in to quite rowdy guys who seem to think this behaviour is ok for a family and couples area in a so called 4 star hotel. We had really hoped that the Manager would come to speak to us about this separately but he did not. Again disappointed in the manager of a 4 * hotel..and there was never any sight of anyone in a senior role monitoring this area or being responsive directly to guests. The prevalence of
" groups' here in this hotel is very off putting. We intend returning to Mlaga next year but may look for an alternative hotel.

The lifts are extremely slow. There is no protection/shade from the sun at the small pool area.
