The only positive aspect is the location. However, be aware that walking from Príncipe Pío Station to the hotel involves an uphill climb, which can be uncomfortable with luggage. I would recommend looking for accommodation closer to Plaza de España, Gran Vía, or directly near the station itself for easier access.
I recently stayed at Hotel Principe Pio, and unfortunately, my experience was disappointing.
We arrived early with our luggage, and the staff did not offer any assistance. During check-in, I was asked to pay for the rooms, but my card was declined due to an international transaction issue. Although the hotel already had our passports and I politely asked for a few hours to resolve the payment issue, the receptionist insisted that we would not receive the room until full payment was made. The lack of flexibility and understanding was frustrating after a long journey.
When we finally got our room, it had a strong moisture smell, felt unclean, and seemed like it hadn’t been used for months. When we returned to reception to complain, the staff immediately understood what we meant, which suggests they were already aware of the issue. They changed our room.
A few hours later, we discovered that the safe box in the new room was not working, and we had to change rooms again. Moving rooms twice in one day was extremely inconvenient.
Additionally, every night the elevator had a strong food smell, which made the common areas feel poorly maintained.

Hotel has excellent breakfast and one of the convenient location to walk to several main places.
Room has a king bed and very comfortable and also USB drives are available. Bathroom has good enough Space. Only two things that are a bit inconvenient are room has any space to move around between king bed and table; and bathroom shower has no door to cover. Above discomforts can be overthrown for location.

Location is great. The room was large and comfy. The bed was great, big and comfortable.
The bathroom was in a bad condition, pretty old and not maintained.
The stuff were nice on the stay but we had a bad ending to the experience with them. We asked for late checkout on 18:30 instead of 12:00. The representative in the lobby told us that usually it by 18:00 but we can take extra 30 min. We paid 40 euros for the late checkout, so far so good.
On 18:10 while we are getting ready for the checkout and the flight, we got a call from the lobby that we need to leave the room immediately and do checkout since they have new guest whom need the room. They told us that by the policy of the hotel late checkout is by 18:00 and that no one approved to leave by 18:30.
Of course they had miscommunication between the crew and the result was us getting ready really quick, doing everything on a rush and feeling nervous. On top of that the representative from the lobby behaved in a rude way and let us feel it’s our fault. I expect them to take responsibility on their mistakes and not letting the customer feel he need to explain or apologize on things like that!

Everything went well, the room was clean but small. The heated towel rack was a bonus. the staff is extremely nice and accommodating. Nice location, close to a few coffee shops and eateries. Would stay there again.
There isn't much we didn't like. The rooms could have been a little bigger. But other than that there was nothing we didn't like. We were only there for two nights and we were only in the room to sleep.
