The hotel's location is great—the metro is literally just around the corner. Madrid's main attractions are within walking distance, and there are shopping and dining options nearby. We really liked the story behind the hotel, which we had the chance to learn about right after we arrived.
The hotel is in a busy part of town, and the noise doesn't let up even at night. We stayed on a floor with a slanted wall; it was impossible to walk around the bed while standing upright. The hotel room was very sparsely furnished.

Very tired property, bathroom had dust in the corners and marks on the walls in the shower and bathroom, the corridor had chipped skirting boards and evidence of a repair on the ceiling that had been executed poorly.

Petit Palace Posada del Peine has a fantastic location right in the heart of Madrid, within walking distance of many of the city's main attractions, restaurants, and shops. The breakfast was excellent, with a great selection and high-quality food.
The hotel also has a long and fascinating history, and staying in such a historic building is definitely an experience worth having. It adds a special charm to the stay and gives you a sense of being part of Madrid's history.
We stayed on the fourth floor in a room with a very sloping ceiling. Approximately one-third of the room was practically unusable because of the low ceiling. The room also had no view and felt rather cramped and claustrophobic.
For a stay of just a couple of nights, this might be manageable, but for a longer stay, it becomes quite uncomfortable.
The most unpleasant experience was discovering a live cockroach in the men's restroom in the basement, near the kitchen. Naturally, this was quite disturbing.

Love the accessibility just within right distance e to where my destinations are.
It’s too pricy for my second check in. Compared with my first stay which was only few days apart. My first stay which is is only few days apart from each other since this is my layover the room price equates to eacb other. Second time stay is way overprice like 50% higher.

The location is very convenient in Madrid and also very convenient to reach it via public transport. I think it is good value for money. They provide a very rich breakfast buffet with many options, so the paid breakfast is definitely a plus.
I understand that Madrid's costs are higher than those of other main Spanish cities, but I personally feel that for the overall experience, the price was a bit high.

The location was great although it is in a pedestrian area so a short walk from the taxi drop or parking garage is necessary. Very close to wonderful taverns and restaurants.

Disappointing
The central location was fantastic for sightseeing. You can walk to the major sights easily within 25 minutes. Although it should be noted it’s a very lively area so lots of bustle and noise into the early hours - this no fault of the hotel of course. Myriam on reception was great, very nice and helpful, Jon also. Breakfast was pretty good, quite a good selection of food and drink choices. Hot water was plentiful and the multi function shower was good.
The whole interior needs refreshing and proper maintenance. The room pictures are misleading - a small double is really a single and the arrangement of the furniture hopeless, hard to explain but it just made everything difficult. About 5 inches to get round the end of the bed with a sharp edged desk in the way meant bashed knees. For the first time ever we just had to get an upgrade after the first night to a proper double, for which we were charged extra, very disappointing. The larger room was on the exterior, 2nd floor and street noise was incredibly loud. Noise from neighbours in the corridor and when they had flushed the loo or were showering was also a disturbance. The bathroom , albeit quite spacious, was shabby with toilet roll holder hanging off the wall, damaged toilet seat lid, hole in the ceiling - and the worst thing in my opinion, the door couldn’t close so we had to keep propping it shut by moving the bin in front. Some staff gave the impression they aren’t interested in customer service. I didn’t appreciate being asked to pay for extras we hadn’t had at check out either.
