Location. However, there are far better options nearby for the same price that offer much higher quality, comfort and better service.
Based on the overall condition and experience, this hotel should be rated as a 2-star property rather than anything higher. We documented the room with photos to reflect its actual condition, which was very different from what was presented online. The room had a strong unpleasant odor and visible mold, and the smoke detector was not functioning, which was especially concerning given that smoking was present in the hotel.
The staff are helpful, but their demeanor often appears unhappy, which affects the overall atmosphere and does not create a welcoming feeling.

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Our rooms had beautiful views, the beds were comfortable, and the location truly cannot be beat with its proximity to the Plaza Mayor and the Puerta del Sol. We hope to stay here again when we return.
The AC left a little to be desired but I understand this is typical in Spain and Europe.

The location is excellent!
On a busy street, close to main squares, metro, shops, all while being completely quiet when the windows were closed.
So many things were a walking distance, so we could come and go whenever we wanted.
Reception staff were always there and always in a good mood.
Even tho it seems a bit worn, the overall experience was excellent and I'd come back for sure :-)
The hotel / entrance / hallways seem a bit older, but the rooms are completely fine and clean!

The location was great and the room was clean. The staff was helpful and friendly. The room was too small/tiny, and cramped with simply not enough room for 4 people to move around and get in and out of their luggage/the bathroom etc. This is a hotel room layout, small. The bunk room had no windows. No table or chairs etc.
No views, no balcony etc.
The location in the city was great.

The breakfast was really good and the location was excellent.
The lift was slow, the safety box was broken and there was no air-con in the room (only the heater).
