A very comfortable hotel with good transport links into the middle of Madrid by Metro or by Bus. The staff were excellent in every area - very friendly, efficient and professional. Comfortable bed, impressed with how much comfortable seating there was in the room. Good to have a kettle and a fridge in the room. Very good bathroom.

Friendly and helpful personnel. Let us into the room even before the official check-in time, and stored our baggage after the check-out. Nice, clean, a real hotel. It was a bit more expensive, but it is expected for Madrid this time of year. On the other hand, a hotel is a nice upgrade from private apartments and rooms.

The hotel is excellent, in a great location and 1 min from the metro. The staff were very helpful, they helped us choose restaurants and places to walk in Madrid. The hotel is clean and worth the money

Very clean, modern hotel. 5 min walk to metro and there is also 4 min walk to laundromat. We were given complimentary champagne 2 glass, but me and my companion don't drink. I will definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and relatives. Worth the money.

It was beautiful, clean, spacious. The inside of the rooms were beautiful and very comfortable. We got a 3 person room and each person was able to get a bed for themselves. We also loved the batbroom

Staff is really amazing. The room is also good.
Location - as it says “Retiro”, I thought it was close to the park but actually it isn’t. It is a 30 min walk and the neighborhood is really not very nice.

It was very clean well maintained with very attentive and helpful staff The hotel was in an ideal location for metro and local bus services

My stay at Catalonia Hotel El Retiro was overall a very good experience. The hotel is easy to access and conveniently located close to public transportation, which made getting around the city simple and efficient.
The staff was friendly and welcoming, and I appreciated how smooth and easy the check-in process was—even though I arrived earlier than the official check-in time, everything was handled quickly.
There is also covered parking available for a fee, which is a plus for those traveling by car.
The parking spaces are quite narrow and not well-suited for larger vehicles like SUVs, which can make maneuvering a bit challenging.
The room itself was okay but showed some signs of wear. The parquet flooring was damaged in several areas, which slightly affected the overall impression.
Additionally, the air conditioning wasn’t working properly, and I couldn’t lower the temperature enough to stay comfortable during the warm night.
Overall, despite these drawbacks, it was still a solid stay—I'd rate it an 8 out of 10.
