The location of the hotel is excellent, and the reception staff were very professional, helpful, and handled the situation politely.
Considering the 5 stars, the room condition and cleanliness were below standard. The room entry door was difficult to open and was not fixed after being reported, the bed sheets were damaged, and the window was noticeably dirty. The most serious issue was a drainage problem in the shower, which caused water to flood the bathroom. The bread served at breakfast was stale every morning.

Went to the cocktail bar first day and got told it was table service,staff ignored us and chatted amongst themselves.we eventually left after waiting a considerable amount of time.

layout of bedroom could have been better. And needed better lighting.
Not enough storage space for one week's clothing. Had to live out of suitcase.

The location was fantastic, just outside thencity centre and very close to the Retiro Park. Being on a side street from the main road, there was minimal outside noise ensuring a quiet nights sleep. The real 5 star experience is the friendliness, helpfulness and professionalism of all the staff at the hotel. We felt welcomed and extremely valued as guests by each member ot staff we had the pleasure of meeting. The room was a good size with a comfortable and big bed (one of the reasons i try to book an NH Collection Hotel whenever possible), plenty of pillows and spotlessly clean throughout. The room had all the necessary additions we required (hairdryer, dental kits, corkscrew, bottle opener). Each day we were given a large complimentary bottle of water and chocolates by Miury. The breakfast was good with an excellent choice of juices and smoothies, and lots of cold meats and cheeses. Room service was also very, very good.
If i am being really pedantic, there was a small selection of hot foods available for breakfast.
