Location.
It is an old Hostal, the interiors renovated. The corridors to enter the room are tight. Bathroom space is tight, shower is fine except drainage is slow. Value is not great. Few outlets, tight space around bed, side shelf hits bed at head. Few shelf space or hooks.

Incredible location, right in the city center and a block from Calle Mayor and Plaza Mayor. Room was clean and comfortable.
Could easily hear other guests walking down the hallway. Not a lot of protection from other sounds or lights.

Wonderful location close to Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol. Our room was fairly spacious and included 2 bottles of water and a small bottle of cava, in addition to tea and coffee (instant) supplies. Our room was pretty quiet. While not luxurious, it was perfect for a two night stay. Staff was great and helped us arrange an early cab.
My only suggestion is different pillows. They were extremely hard foam with no give, and it gave me a headache to sleep on it.

Location is super, right in the heart of the central area.
Space is enough for two of us. It has an elevator which is nice.
Room looks new and clean. Reception people is very friendly and helpful.
They pre-arranged a taxi for our next morning to the airport, which is nice.
The floor of the room is uneven so the bed is placed at a weird angle that your head is lower than your feet.
The shower room is super small so it is difficult to turn around.
The reception desk is right outside of the rooms, about 2-3 feet. Someone is sitting outside of your room for 24 hours. You may feel secure but weird.

Great location, the entry way is hard to find, keep looking. The rooms have a good layout and make the most of the small space. Our room had good sound insulation and a split type air conditioning.
There is a small elevator up to the second floor.
The check in area is small, feels tight.

Well located in town.
Paper thin walls and people talked loudly all night long. Grrrr. The bed was not very welcoming and the blanket felt dirty and previously used. There was one very small window that could not be used as a fire escape in the event of a fire because it went nowhere. Oh the things you think about in the middle of the night when it is too noisy to sleep. I will pick another property next time in Madrid.
