We had a great stay at Hotel Catalonia Puerta del Sol! The location is perfect, with plenty of restaurants nearby and Madrid’s main attractions within walking distance. The room was comfortable, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Overall, a wonderful experience. Highly recommend!

Beautiful ancient historic building.
Leaky shower and noisy room. Ear plugs needed.

Very Good
Our room overlooked a busy street, but the double windows did a great job blocking any noise. We didn't realize there were jackhammers working on the nearby plaza until we went back outside. The room was clean and comfortable. It only suffered in comparison with the other wonderful accommodations we booked for this trip.
With all the protests going on and the national holiday, it was challenging to get anywhere, even on foot. On the plus side, though, we discovered a charming little restaurant by looking away from the congestion.

Wonderful
Facilities, location & staff ok.
Quiet, specially considering the mess Madrid is living nowadays.
Wanted to order room service but the restaurant, or kitchen was not open.

Staff are incredibly kind and accommodating. Hotel also held our luggage while we finished exploring the city prior to our airport departure which was really great. The location is perfect, central to all the sites and easy to walk everywhere.

Pleasant
Good location. Nice bar area
We were not told the entire floor was being renovated. The corridors were covered in sheets and paper so we had to drag our cases over it. The room we were given was not renovated and was very tired.
