The staff is really wonderful here! We arrived very early in the morning super tired and they were able to put priority cleaning on the room so we could check in early. Also, when there was an issue, they were very helpful and trying to make it up. Really appreciated their thoughtfulness for our family’s stay.

Nice stay overall and it’s in a great area with plenty around. We landed very early and, although check-in wasn’t until 3pm, they were accommodating and let us relax in the lobby for a bit and store our bags while we went out to explore and grab food. The rooms themselves were comfortable and well kept. Would stay again.
The name is a bit misleading as it’s still a decent walk to Plaza Mayor

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Catalonia Plaza Mayor in Madrid. We were especially grateful to be allowed an early check-in after a long, exhausting flight—it made a big difference.
The staff was outstanding: friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help. The hotel is very centrally located, within about a ten-minute walk of Atocha train station. We were able to walk everywhere, enjoying both the charming streets of the old city and the main tourist attractions.
Breakfast was included in our stay and, honestly, it was the best buffet we’ve had in our travels.
Highly recommend this hotel!

Location was superb — an easy walk to virtually all main attractions in central Madrid, but also right by a metro stop and easy 10 minute walk to Atocha train station. Tons of restaurants in all directions. Staff very helpful.
Hard to adjust temp in room. Could use a 2nd chair.

We loved everything about this property. The location was great, the room was spacious and decadent, the shower was awesome, the breakfast was the best we had during our 3 weeks in Spain and the staff were extremely good. All great
