We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Catalonia Plaza Mayor in Madrid. We were especially grateful to be allowed an early check-in after a long, exhausting flight—it made a big difference.
The staff was outstanding: friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help. The hotel is very centrally located, within about a ten-minute walk of Atocha train station. We were able to walk everywhere, enjoying both the charming streets of the old city and the main tourist attractions.
Breakfast was included in our stay and, honestly, it was the best buffet we’ve had in our travels.
Highly recommend this hotel!

Location was superb — an easy walk to virtually all main attractions in central Madrid, but also right by a metro stop and easy 10 minute walk to Atocha train station. Tons of restaurants in all directions. Staff very helpful.
Hard to adjust temp in room. Could use a 2nd chair.

We loved everything about this property. The location was great, the room was spacious and decadent, the shower was awesome, the breakfast was the best we had during our 3 weeks in Spain and the staff were extremely good. All great

It was ok, staff were amazing but hotel was more 3 star than 4. Location was excellent and breakfast was great.
Room was very mid and very grey and depressing. Bed sheets were clean but rough.
Rooms could be brightened and made more welcoming.

The hotel is located a short walk from Sol, so it's very centrally located in Madrid. Easy to get to/from everywhere with a short walk or a trip on public transit. The staff were wonderful and made sure we had everything we needed. It is a very comfortable and modern hotel with a great location.
I'm not sure I can name something I didn't like. The breakfast was on the high side so we decided to skip it, but it's within normal range for the city and area. Everything else was great.

Breakfast was excellent. It had variety of choices of high quality foods. I give 10 for being the best breakfast among hotels I've been to.
The room was very cold at night and the thermostat didn't seem to work. I normally came back to hotel late night, so I tried calling the reception but the hotel phone didn't work either. It was frustrating. On top of that, the hotel room keys were locked when I and my friends came back from exhausting work. We ended up going up and down many times to get the room keys to work. However, the counter service rep didn't even apology for the inconveniences. This is not the service I expected from an hotel like Catalonia plaza mayor.

I love that Catalonia Plaza Mayor location was perfect as it’s close to city centre. The property is definitely worth every penny as the amenities and layout & cleanliness of the room felt very comfortable
My room smelled a bit of smoke or cigarette as I’m highly sensitive to smell especially to smoke.
