Good location for central Madrid. Good breakfast (in the basement though).
Comfortable room and bed, Good bathroom (we had a premium room).
Presented with a fruit platter on our last night of four - nice touch.
Make sur you know which Catalonia Hotel is which - we went to the wrong one. There are many.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Catalonia Plaza Mayor in Madrid. We were especially grateful to be allowed an early check-in after a long, exhausting flight—it made a big difference.
The staff was outstanding: friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help. The hotel is very centrally located, within about a ten-minute walk of Atocha train station. We were able to walk everywhere, enjoying both the charming streets of the old city and the main tourist attractions.
Breakfast was included in our stay and, honestly, it was the best buffet we’ve had in our travels.
Highly recommend this hotel!

This hotel is in a fantastic location! You can walk to all the major attractions, and there are quite a few nice restautants nearby.
The room itself is pretty new, with nice, modern facilities that look even better in the photos. I got an inner courtyard view room, and it was quiet at night—perfect for a good night's sleep.
The staff are all really warm and friendly too. Definitely a solid pick!

huge and comfortable bed
great location
breakfast price, but there are many options around for a third of the cost
staff could have mentioned the whirlpool and work out room
