This is one of the premier lodgings I have encountered. Besides 60 Balcones Recoletos, I have stayed at the 60 Balcones Atocha. Both are top-notch, but I rate Recoletos a notch or two higher. One is the quiet. The bedroom is in back far from the street. Calle Almirante is not a noisy street, but all the better to be away from any noise. I slept very, very well, not only due to the quiet but also thanks to the large, comfortable bed. The facility has plenty of utensils for food prep. Right across the street is a small grocery store that stocks a useful variety of things. Very handy! But plan on heading out for excellent dining in a great culinary capital. Plenty of cultural attractions abound in the area as well. The metro stop Chueca is just down the street, and the stop for Banco de España is not far either. Then right at the mouth of Calle Almirante is the Recoletos Cercanías railway station. Madrid is supremely easy for getting around, and is very safe even late at night. The 60 Balcones operations include daily cleaning of the apartments, similar to hotels. The cleaning staff are pleasant and flexible, thus I have always been able to work around their daily appearance. The atmosphere is overall very pleasant, the neighborhood is a delight, and the facilities are in excellent condition. My highest recommendations!

Key machine after hours
We arrived at 7:30pm and needed to access the keys by self checkin which includes scanning your passport. The system wasn't working, we were able to call and get someone to manually enter our information so we could retrieve the key cards. Took about 20 minutes.

Very roomy apartment with a great open space to hang out and plan adventures. It has heated floors!! So comfortable in the winter! fully equipped with dishwasher and washing machine. location is really good, edge of Chueca was more quiet than when I have stayed in heart of Chueca before.
The entry to the bathtub would be difficult for many, risk of falling. No closet space, although they did provide a hanging rack in the main bedroom. The circulation in the main bedroom was difficult. it made the nice sized room feel cramped.

Beautiful apartment with tons of space and we loved the location too, very charming
The machine to retrieve our key in the front didn’t work and it was stressful to have to call repeatedly when we all were tired after a long drive and needed a restroom.

Safe, spotless, wonderful location. Could walk to most everything!
Receptionist had an attitude. We couldn't figure out how to get in through 1st door and she was sitting behind a windowed office watching us and never got up to help. Then we couldn't figure out where our room was and she rolled her eyes when she had to get up again to POINT to the direction of the room. She was extremely rude and not helpful.
