I was refused checking in to the hotel as I had lost my passport, I had been at the hotel all day and spent over 2000 euros as well as paying 800 euro for a room, the staff were unhelpful and kept changing the story to what I needed to check in. Both the hotel and booking.com were no help

I have been visiting W Hotel Barcelona for a very long time
There is a very thin line between being genuinly and not customer oriented. I beleive lately the service is more likely not genuine but pretending to be focused on customer satisfaction. Needless to say i can not include all staff in to this comment as there are many trying their best genuinely. When visiting breakfast area as an example in the morning, you are 53 years old accompanied by your wife and a young employee that shows you the table warns you not to sit to stand still unless the cuttlery is on the table it sounds weird.
