W Barcelona is a striking sail-like structure next to Barceloneta Beach, offering breathtaking design and fantastic views over Barcelona. The breakfast was huge. From eggs to iberian ham and sausages they had everything ! The beach is at the front door and so are many restaurants and a nice esplanade to walk. The sauna and steamroom were great, you also have the opportunity for massages.
The walk to city center is about 30 minutes, but it didn’t matter to me, i took bicycles to go there so it took about 5 minutes.

The room had a great view and it was very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and very enjoyable, and the people serving were all very welcoming.
W Barcelona was going through some renovations at the time of our arrival. I booked a room on the floor 15+, and I was told upon arrival that the room I booked would not be available because of that, *after* I asked why I was being handed a card for a room on the 2nd floor. The room we got on the 2nd floor was supposedly of a higher standing, but I was still left very annoyed because my choice had been to go for a high floor, not for a lower and more expensive floor. The staff asked me for my phone number to contact me after they checked with management if something else could be arranged for us. I wouldn't have minded if they said that nothing could be done at that point, but they simply never called. To top that off, we figured that the parking was not included in the room price. These are issues that to some extent I can understand, but I feel they are completely inappropriate for a hotel of such caliber, considering the room prices. I expected better.

The Worst Reception Experience I Have Ever Had During my recent stay, I experienced the worst reception service I have ever encountered in any hotel. The staff at the front desk were unhelpful, unfriendly, and showed little interest in assisting guests. When I arrived, there was no proper greeting or explanation about the hotel facilities. I had to wait a long time before being attended to, even though there were no other guests at the counter. When I tried to ask for help regarding my booking and room issues, the receptionist responded with impatience and a dismissive attitude. Instead of offering solutions, they seemed irritated by my questions. This level of service was disappointing and unprofessional, especially for a hotel of this category. Overall, the experience left a very negative impression. I hope the management takes serious action to improve the quality of customer service and train the staff to treat guests with more respect and courtesy.
