Fair
Overall, the hotel is OK; The location is really good, the rooms are nicely decorated and the beds are comfy.
There are some areas for improvement which would take much to change and make the experience better; the pillows in the room are so soft they’re uncomfortable, the water pressure in the shower isn’t very good, the breakfast offering is really poor quality and limited, the service in the restaurant is really inconsistent and slow with some of the staff just wandering about and chatting rather than focused on their sections, and finally the rooftop closures are sporadic and not communicated very well so event if you book a slot you may not get it if they decide to close for weather or a private booking, in the week we were there thus happened to us 5 times, the food offering on the rooftop was limited too. Overall it could be so good but these things just make it alright. Not the worst experience we’ve had but certainly nowhere near memorable.

Good
Loved the decor and the friendly staff.
The pool area says the sunbeds are free to use for guests but we were made to pay. Even when the sunbeds were empty we were then told we had to leave or pay again. We then sat at the side and watched as the sunbeds remained empty for the rest of the afternoon

Very Good
The room was comfortable and everything worked well. When we asked for toothbrushes , and iron and board ect it was all provided quickly.
The set up of using the swimming pool is very offputting. It’s €30 for 4 hours of using a Sunbed, or €60 for the day. That is the minimum cost- there are higher packages.

The pillows
The Hoxton Barcelona was, without question, one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The staff were unhelpful, unfriendly, and completely unresponsive — every interaction felt like dealing with robots programmed to say “no” or do nothing at all. Hospitality? Nonexistent.
Room service was a joke. They didn’t answer the phone, and when they finally did, I had to call three times just to get food. When the food eventually came, they didn’t even know which room it was for. To top it off, they stop serving coffee to rooms after 11 a.m. — because apparently, guests aren’t allowed to want coffee in the late morning? Ridiculous.
And the biggest insult: our room wasn’t cleaned for three consecutive days. Not once. No fresh towels, no tidying, nothing. At this price point, that is beyond unacceptable.
This hotel is all hype and no substance — “design” and “style” masking an operation that is utterly clueless about service. Save yourself the frustration. There are plenty of hotels in Barcelona where staff actually care, rooms are actually cleaned, and where you don’t have to beg for basic service. The Hoxton should be ashamed to call itself a hotel.

Poor
I had a very poor experience at the breakfast. I only wanted 1 cappuccino, not even food, and the staff told me to go the hotel lobby to order one, as it will open soon
Also no one informed me that the pool has to be booked 24 hrs in advance and has cover charges, i was told on the morning itself by the hostess who said i couldn't use the pool facilities, as a hotel paying guest

Nothing.

Very Good
Loved the room, location and the vibe of the hotel.
It is pretty outrageous to charge guests to sit by the pool, when the pool is only accessible for hotel guests. Unfair to advertise a pool when really all you can do without paying extra is jump in and out.
