Overall, great stay in room mate pau
Location
- Placa catalunya is perfect to explore the city for the first time in Barcelona
- Airport bus arrives almost to the hotel
- El Corte ingles, huge department store with groceries floor, is in the same building
- Passeig de gracia is around the corner for shopping, dining and more
Breakfast
- Good variety, tasty, enjoyed hotel breakfasts every day of our stay
Cleanliness
- Cleaning ladies did a great job, I was mostly barefoot in the room
Other things worth mentioning
- Great breakfast timing from 7am till 12pm
- You can use coffee machine from 12 to 18 after breakfast
- Room spaces are organized very thoughtfully
- Staff was very nice and helpful
Small things we’ve noticed but they didn’t affect our stay much
- Plates and glasses at breakfast were not fully clean sometimes
- Toilet and bathroom doors have a gap at the bottom, would be better to have full privacy
- My husband didn’t like the taste of eggs at breakfast, for me it was okay

I had a very nice stay at Room Mate Pau. Before our arrival, I asked for separate beds, and the hotel kindly took my request into consideration and arranged everything for us.
The mattresses were incredibly comfortable, which made a big difference after long days of walking around Barcelona. The room and the whole hotel were also spotlessly clean, and the staff were very friendly, helpful and attentive throughout our stay.
The breakfast was delicious, with a good variety of options, and I especially loved the beautiful breakfast area. It was a lovely way to start the day.
Thank you to the whole Room Mate Pau team! I would happily stay here again. ❤️
There were just a couple of things that I found a little less convenient. In my opinion, the price was slightly high. Also, if two people are staying for several days, there isn’t quite enough space to comfortably organize and store all your clothes.
Apart from that, I was very happy with our stay. The location, cleanliness, comfort and especially the staff made the experience a very pleasant one.

Design, architecture, decor is superb!! Great staff. Luis, Pilar, Roland were great! Mark, Anna, Naria were helpful at the desk.
No wash clothes for baths (minor) few lights were not working but they fixed most on second day.

Staff provided complementary late checkout to make up for an air conditioning problem.
Room 212 smelled like soap and possibly urine. (Room 210 had the same problem but with an even more pronounced urine-like odor. A third room they showed me smelled like an explosion in a cologne and/or perfume factory.)
The bed sagged.
Air conditioning stopped working during a heat wave for the entire second floor.
The bathroom door scraped against the tile floor, preventing the door from being opened fully and leaving gouge marks on the tile.
The toilet paper dispenser was attached to the back wall rather than a side wall, forcing me to severely twist my body to grab the toilet paper from behind me.
The shower had a short glass bath screen, leaving much of the bathroom exposed to stray water from the shower.
I had to repeatedly tighten the handheld showerhead to prevent water from escaping from its screw base.
The room was partially carpeted, which has the potential to harbor filth. Modern hotels should not have any carpet in the hotel rooms.
Check-in was strangely slow and also required me to provide information that Booking.com had already provided to them. I had to tap on a touchscreen to enter information that they had already been provided by Booking.com. It is neither my job to make up for the lack of sufficient technological integration with Booking.com, nor is it my job to provide data-entry services to the front desk staff so that they don't have to enter the data themselves.
The lobby's motion-sensing door was hyperactive, such that I had to be careful where I stood near the front desk to prevent triggering the motion sensor.
The taxes imposed exceeded the expected taxes mentioned on Booking.com.
Corporate management should first secretly visit this lobby to observe how inefficient check-in is, and then they should survey all the rooms to correct the hotel's lack of attention to detail and common sense.

Perfect location. Next to the largest department store and a really short walk to the airport bus. Breakfast was also pretty good.
The bed was too soft. The shower was just partially enclosed so the bathroom floor would always get wet after a shower.

Had the room with a beautiful terrace with a view. Location was very good near the Plaza de Catalunya, which suited our purposes. The breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of options, including homemade hot dishes and a coffee machine that made specialty coffees with the friendliest staff that always greeted you with a cheerful hello and smile.
My shower door maybe was off the track and didn't close all the way, leading to some water that got on the floor, but it was not a big deal.

A seamless group stay with unbeatable service!
Every space in the hotel was immaculate, beautifully designed. The morning spread was delicious, but the true stars of the show remain the prime location and a team of staff who are genuinely kind, professional, and endlessly helpful.

Absolute perfection – unbeatable location and staff!
The location is perfect and the staff was extremely helpful, professional, and so kind. The rooms are amazing, and the overall design is fantastic. Breakfast was very good, but the true highlights are definitely the staff and the location.
We stayed as a group of 19 family members across 7 rooms, and every single one of us thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Highly recommended!
