Primero Primera is a scape from the busy streets of Barcelona. Located is a quiet neighborhood, it’s a great place to relax after a day in the city. The rooms are beautiful and big. The staff is great and friendly, with great recommendations for what to do in the city.

It has a home-like atmosphere, likely because it’s a converted apartment building tucked into a quiet suburban neighborhood. The on-site garage is convenient, the rooms are relatively spacious, and the breakfast buffet is impressively expansive. We regretted not booking a true 5-star hotel, which would have cost the same but delivered a far more luxurious experience.
We appreciated the complimentary breakfast offered as a gesture for the non-functional phone and TV screen in our room. However, the overall experience at Primero Primera fell short of a true 5-star standard.
The rooms are not updated — one of our bathrooms had a visibly worn door ledge, and the furniture throughout felt dated and tired. Towels were limited (just two), and although complimentary water and soft drinks were a nice touch, they didn’t make up for the lack of modern comfort.
The pool area also felt outdated, and overall amenities were underwhelming for a hotel in this category. Staff were polite, but seemed limited in their authority to accommodate guest needs. For instance, when we requested rooms on the same floor as our children, we were offered to downgrade our room instead of upgrading theirs — an odd solution that was paired with a complimentary buffet as a concession.
While the hotel has charm and a boutique feel, it did not deliver a true luxury experience. A disappointing stay for those expecting 5-star quality.

Absolutely loved our 5-day stay at Primero Primera! The hotel is so beautifully decorated—every corner has its own charm. The reception team was amazing and super helpful, always ready to help with anything we needed, including booking tickets for all the tourist spots we wanted to see.
Our room was really spacious and stylish, with a super comfy bed (slept like a baby every night!). The hotel restaurant is a must-try—everything we ordered was delicious, but the pig trotters were out of this world.

The hotel itself was lovely—great location, clean and stylish rooms, and a relaxing atmosphere.
I rarely leave negative reviews, but unfortunately, my recent stay was marked by a frustrating experience with the hotel staff. From the beginning, they were neither accommodating nor flexible when it came to simple requests. There was a noticeable lack of effort to make guests feel welcome or supported.
The situation worsened at check-out when I was given an incorrect bill. What should have been a straightforward process turned into an unnecessarily complicated ordeal. The staff handled it poorly, not showing understanding of the inconvenience they were causing.
Overall, the very basic hospitality left a negative impression. I hope management addresses these issues to improve the guest experience in the future.

Nice surprise hotel in an unassuming street. It was a huge room and very comfortable. Only point is its in a location that is quite far from the main touristy areas. But for those who have seen enough of Barcelona and want a change of scenery in a different neighbour hood then this is definitely it!
Staff were a little grumpy (front desk) at times but otherwise restaurant staff were great as well as everything else.

Residential area, safe. Unique and charming structure. Hotel restaurant was very delicious
Building is well maintained clean but old structures. Kids running above our room at midnight making me disturb my sleep. Hotel staff took care of it. But next room noise can hear and there is nothing I can do.

This is the 3rd time and honestly I tought there was nothing to improve already before however as usual the stuff went over and beyond to let us feel very welcome. Also as stated in my previous review the hotel is beautiful and very comfortable, the breakfast is so fresh and tasty and the rooms have the best shower ever! Really this is not only one of the best hotels in Barcelona but is one of the best hotel in the world!!!
