The hotel’s location is good and convenient for getting around. The rooftop garden is attractive—if you are lucky enough to find a decent table, which is by no means guaranteed.
The room was clean, and the staff were polite.
The most significant issue was the bathroom in the standard room. To begin with, this gimmick of bathrooms that are not separated by a door from the rest of the room really needs to stop. What happens if my husband wants to sleep and I want to take a shower and dry my hair? Additionally, the shower drain often smelled, and without a door this odor spread throughout the entire room. It is a completely impractical choice in the name of design—or rather, cost savings.
Furthermore, the shower was faulty and leaked a lot of water from the overhead rain shower from the very first day, making it impossible to shower without getting your hair wet. On the second day we informed the reception, and after they confirmed the issue, they told us it would be fixed the following day, as it was already afternoon and we did not want to leave the room at that time for the repair to take place. Ultimately, the problem was resolved the day after that—one day before our departure—possibly due to the Christmas period. Even so, the metal elements of the shower could have been much better maintained and cleaned, rather than worn and covered in limescale.
Another issue with the bathroom is the black plastic walls and floor surrounding it, which make it impossible to tell whether cleanliness is adequate (in the shower, certainly not). In many places, the wall finishes are appalling, and the hair conditioner was practically useless.
The toilet area resembled a hatch (at least there was a door there), without even a small table or shelf to place your phone or any feminine hygiene items, despite there being available space.
The mattress was excessively hard, soundproofing was almost nonexistent, and the walls were completely bare, giving the impression of a cold, uninviting room with no personality or warmth.
Breakfast, although based on good-quality ingredients, falls short in execution. The preparations (waffles, scrambled eggs, etc.
