We had a minor issue with the room - the service team responded immediately to my simply survey answer and offered to change our room and extended additional care - very nice of them and amazing service
Be aware that you need to book your time in the pool in advance - which is great because you have an almost private pool and jacuzzi :)

The location is amazing in the middle of a shopping street. Also the lobby is cozy. The staff are so friendly. Security in the elevator where only staying visitors are allowed to use the elevator.
There is no isolation between rooms or room and corridor, i can hear everything around me when am in the room.
Also there is no peephole or door viewer on the room door to check who is coming or knocking the door.

Disappointing
The location.
It was dirty, it was deceitfully marketed as part of the hotel- only if you click in the detailed room description you would see it’s in a residence across the street. I specifically used a filter “HOTEL” when booking and the picture of the property were those of the hotel not the residence. The staff even told us “we are two different companies”. They don’t change bed sheets, didn’t exchange towel and the room textiles had white stains all over. The shower was dirty.

The receptionist seemed inexperienced and the process took a long time. We were asked to pay a deposit for just one additional night, which unfortunately took over a month and several follow-ups to have refunded.
When we requested to have the minibar removed, we understood that charges would only apply if we used any services. In that case, a deposit should not have been required. In many international hotels, this approach is standard ,charges are applied only upon usage, without outdated deposit practices.

We were at Barcelona for my son's wedding. Most of our guests were staying there as well. We were all very happy with the hotel services. The staff were amazing. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. After the wedding my husband and I decided to extend our stay, and the front desk was very helpful and easily accommodated our request.
Very happy and satisfied with everything. Thank you Majestic. For sure we'll be back.

Toiletry needs revamp, no bar soap , hate the liquid gel, appears more to be the standard in lesser quality hotels. Have stayed in this hotel many times for the last 20 yrs while visiting my relatives and throughout the years this particular issue has in my opinion diminished in quality specially when everything is placed in this plastic bottles.

I liked the location, the size of the room, the rooftop and the breakfast.
I didnt like the fact that the entire property at every single floor there was a very strong smell which was not pleasunt at all.
The entire group kept complaining about it (we were a big group with so many rooms). At check in they messed up with our rooms.

Hotel staff is not professional at all
Level of service is extremely poor specially housekeeping we had to call 3 times for the room to be cleaned in one day
and room service we every morning we asked for a coffee for 2 and they keep bringing coffee for one !!
We had an incident at the terrace where it was closed for private event and no clear sign that it was closed, the staff spoke with us in Spanish as we didn’t understand what’s going on , the the terrace manager came and physically touched me and pushed me very quickly out of the entrance so we can leave , it was extremely embarrassing and unacceptable !
We kept complaining on every single incident and the hotel staff and management didn’t do anything and not even any gesture of apology or respect!
I will never stay nor recommend this hotel again

The 'superior family room' we booked was delightful, being both big, well decorated, well equipped and very quiet, as it opens on a back yard rather than the very busy boulevards in front of the hotel. This is an old 'belle epoque' palace but has been well and truly modernised and must have been extensively refurbished at some point in the relatively recent past. The rooftop terrace is a delight and so is 'SOLC'. the hotel restaurant. All staff were friendly and efficient and when needed, went way above the call of duty to solve an issue we faced. On the whole although palatial in ways more modern (and more expensive) 5 star hotels in Barcelona cannot match, the hotel is full of character and its staff refreshingly devoid of the snobbery one sometimes encounters in such places.
Splitting the Spa into a pool and gym and then a sauna/hammam/jacuzzi literally 10 floors apart was something of a disappointment and the pricing for these amenities, ranging from free to very expensive can be confusing.

Bait & Switch. The room I got was not what the photos on booking.com advertised. It was smaller in size & did not have the sofa bed I needed - which was my sole reason for booking the room. Wildly over priced.
The front desk staff did what they could to compensate us for the travesty of our first night, but the damage was done. We felt so violated we left a day early as the bitter taste lingered. We both felt ripped off & disrespected by this. I will never stay there again nor recommend it to any of my family, friends or business associates
