Breakfast was ok and the lady who took care of breakfast room had a good service attitude. Also our room and lobby were looking rather new. Holte was some 10 minutes from Catalunya square.
We arrived late when it was dark. The hotel had no illuminated sign but small black letters in facade. It ment that hotel was very difficult to find at dark. Especially because google maps went totally crazy in that area. I had to ask H10 hotel nearby where my hotel was located. The sink to wash hands was not in toilet or shower room but in entrance hall of the room. Probaply not the best place. I asked hotel if they could hold our bag for one day when I visited in Tarragona. That was not possible for them.

From the moment of arrival, it was clear that this was going to be an exceptional stay. All staff were excellent and their only concern was that guests were having an excellent experience.
Lovely room, everything we needed and they were kind enough to have noted it was my birthday and provided some amazing touches.
Great location, nice area by the small pool to catch some afternoon sun.

Best of all was breakfast, very tasty fresh orange juice, bread, over all high quality and great service! The hotel is located in a worn out quarter, so there is no magnificent view to expect. We had two rooms with balconies right above the pool and the room standard felt luxury - all great design and beautiful but maybe not the most functional solutions. We appreciated the small pool area to sit down and relax in the sun after arriving. Urgell red subway is just across the street and la Rambla maybe a 15 minutes walk away. There are lots of supermarkets in the area, the closest one in the same building. Sports Bar & Grill 15 minutes away was a nice place with good food to watch the football game.
We compared a lot of hotels in the area before booking, and Gran Vía BCN definitely met our expectations!
More functional solutions - better place to put the suitcases, shower control was 1.5 meter away from the shower, thus it was hard to regulate the temperature when it takes so long time for the water to reach the nozzle.
