Wonderful
Great position, in the heart of the Gothic Quarter and at walking distance from two metro stations and from the famous Boqueria Market. The room was quiet and clean. Breakfast was good and rich. Really a very good hotel, we enjoyed our stay.

The place is on the center of the gothic region. The room was big enough and was cleaned everyday. The bathroom very nice. We asked a room that faces the street view and it was much nicer then the rooms that are looking towards the pipes of the building (very ugly).
The real problem was on our first day. Its August, very hot. We came to our rooms and the air-condition is barely working, certainly not cooling the room. We call the reception, a guy comes and says it works fine and we need to change the definitions. He shows and tell us "You need to change it here." I tell him it is a sign of heating. He says that in the summer it makes the room cooler. But I see that the room is just getting warmer. Only after we protested loudly that there is a problem, they moved us, to an ugly room with a view to ugly pipes), so we did not accept it, then we had to go back to our previous rooms, and they finally admitted there is a problem and called a technician that fixed the oroblem. When you start your vacation, after many hours of flying, come to barcelona in August and the hotel gives you a room that the sircondition does not work its a problem. Not admitting there is a problem makes the problem double.

Location was great. Downstairs area was beautiful. Breakfast was good.
The room was extremely basic with a view of absolutely nothing. Dinner was included in a strange deserted basement restaurant.

Location!! It was clean and most of the staff was friendly and helpful.
The bed had a fairly thin mattress and wasn’t real comfortable. Fortunately I was so tired after exploring I could have slept on a rock. Some of the staff was not very friendly or helpful but most were. They run out of hot water if too many people are showering at once, which I have never encountered before! If you are from the States, the lights, shower and cooling system was confusing. And the building is like a maze! They could use more signage to help point the way to the elevators.
