Disappointing
Location
Homeless outside of Hotel entrance at night. Noisy in hotel rooms, they put my 77 yr old mom on a separate floor and her room 246 was falling apart literally. Closet door fell on her when opened, towel rack on back shower wall fell of while I tried to hang a towel, shower handheld we very loose water sprayed everywhere and shower head was horrible. We did not pay for breakfast and the hotel would not give my mom a cup to put hot water in so she could make herself a cup of hot tea.

The location was very ideal and central
Finding the property at night was impossible because it was behind gates with no numbers, the line to call was very difficult to reach and the room had a security light that stayed up all night and there were no blankets only a this sheet
I would not recommend anyone stay there is they are looking for something comfortable.

Wonderful
Just one issue we encounter the power was out for a few hours one night. Staff is very nice. Maybe better English would be very nice as well to communicate as the most of the customers were Americans.
We had our room on a 4th floor and when power is out my husband struggles to get in the room.

The location was very convenient and safe - convenient with so many restaurants and bakeries as well as public transportation access not to mention tourist sites. The entry/lobby was most enchanting and the little elevator much appreciated…
As in many other locations in Barcelona and other city centers around the world - a few homeless people appeared late a night, merely to sleep - and were gone very early in the morning. They simply wanted to sleep - no drugs or alcohol or addressing passerby - simply sleeping in their little corner. So we did not find them disruptive nor a threat to our safety and it did not stop us from
walking safely wherever we wanted to late at night.

I thought the design of the building was beautiful. I thought the availability to store bags was very helpful. And I found the location phenomenal, particularly with proximity to the bus area.
I found the building set-up unexpectedly difficult. I had several bags and due to the different "levels" on floor 1 it meant I had to carry heavy bags upstairs after having taken the elevator to that floor. I was disappointed in the lack of support with my bags when entering, exiting, or even inside the hotel. Even just holding the doors open to enter or exit would've been an amazing improvement in service.

The location was ok.
The hotel is located on an alley inaccessible to cars, so there is a bit of walking from the main taxi drop off area. During our stay, we did not have air conditioning at all, in the middle of one of the hottest summers on record. There was no airflow in the room because our room was situated in a dead-end alley. Additionally, the first day, we also did not have hot water. The staff was unhelpful and has not honored the 40% discount they offered and published in the lobby.

The location was good and the property has potential with the old look and feel. The interiors are unique to the antique feel of the neighborhood.
Comfort and amenities were poor. The hot water and air-conditioning went out for the last day and a half of our stay. And during that time the water was completely cut off for about 4 hours with no explanation. Temperature was extremely hot and humid in the room. Couldn't sleep for two of the nights because of that. We're were given no time estimate as to when it would be all fixed. Ac and hot water were still out when we checked out. There's also an alley next to the hotel that always had human waste, and smelled terrible.

The location is right in the middle of everything.
But that’s like every other big city and it’s really in the center. Barcelona is big but a lot was near by.
It’s in the middle of the stores.
The staff were really really nice, especially Enrique.
Two very good restaurants right in the street of the hotel.
The hotel is so so nice
At night it’s not that comfortable because of homeless people right below and in the street, very dirty and stinky as well.

Good breakfast.
1- the bathroom design had it so I could see everything from room. The frosted glass hid nothing.
2- power went out to elevator and A/C our last night there so our room was hot while trying to sleep. Had to carry luggage down several flight of stairs.
3- beds were small two singles. I was with my wife so was expecting at least a double so we could sleep together. Nope. Had to push the beds together to make one bed. I did ask for a double or a queen when I booked the hotel.

Wonderful
Beautiful and clean hotel for a price that was extremely affordable. Some rooms small but not a deal breaker and the amazing shower made up for it. Delicious breakfast available. Location is superb! The concierge that greeted us and stored our bags until check-in time was truly amazing. He was quick to offer his assistance to make sure we had our day planned out appropriately to see all that Barcelona has to offer.
The concierge/front desk clerk that initially greeted us couldn’t do enough to assist us to ensure a comfortable stay and a great time in Barcelona. He was one of the best and most professional concierges I have ever met. However , his replacement, an African American gentleman, was rude and nasty. At one point, he spontaneously expressed annoyance at the sound of my daughter’s shoes as we walked through the lobby. He is clearly in the wrong profession. He Is the sole reason we did not assign the highest score for the staff, but don’t let him stop you from staying here. Everyone else was wonderful.
