This property is gorgeous. The whole space was beautiful and dripping in luxury and history without being ostentatious. The high ceilings made the rooms feel even larger, but what was most impressive was the handwritten note upon arrival—so simple, so special. The young lady at the front desk even helped us find the best catañas last minute. It is definitely a touristy area and cabs won’t always drive to the door, but it’s also a unique experience and we were tourists too. The small details and touches of Catalonian pride really elevated an already lovely hotel.
Someone cut in front of us at check in and was allowed to by staff which wasn’t great, but people will people. Everything else was fabulous.

We were in the apartment, so breakfast was not included. There was a very nice coffee machine in the apartment, but it would've been nice to have milk or cream available, too. As we were only two nights, we didn't go buy milk so we didn't use the coffee machine. Beds were excellent. So were the pillows and linens. Also, excellent luxurious robes and free slippers. Also, the staff was EXCEPTIONAL. Friendly and attentive.
The room was a tiny bit dark. There was a plastic chair in the living room area that wasn't super comfy. So when my. husband sat on the sofa, I had to on the plastic chair. We ended up pulling the comfy chair from the bedroom into the living room area. We were gifted a bottle of wine, which was lovely but as we weren't drinking, it might be nice for a hotel to ask if wine is a good gift or of something else is more appropriate.

The location in the gothic part of the city is spectacular, but one has to be aware that at times roads are closed due to festival etc. and taxis can’t enter. For a Relais & Chateau member the rooms are a bit basic.

We visited with young children and found an endless supply of activities of interest to all. The rooms were meticulously clean and beautiful. The room we had was spacious, and all our requests addressed before our arrival. Our room was ready early when we arrived which was nice. Hotel staff was friendly and wonderful, and the included breakfast was really good. Rooftop terrace and pools were a hit as well!
