ITC Barcelona By Soho Boutique is set in an impressive historic building, next to Barcelona’s Universitat Metro Station. Fantastic location, friendly personnel and clean rooms. Good breakfast and reception working late ensures that guests feel welcomed at any time they arrive. In general a good experience for me, however not that good for some of my friends.
One of the rooms was too small for 2 people, meaning the description was not accurate enough. It would be fair if that room was used only for one person..in a way we felt a bit tricked by size as the description did not clearly indicate that size was that small . it would not be a problem if the Aircon was working, however it was not and 2 people staying in the room ended up with really hot temperature inside.

the key did not open the door, the rooms smell like public toilet with a lot of deodorant, the elevator took forever, I had to ask for the knob in reception to open the windows.

The location is pretty nice and close to the metro and bus stops.
This was honestly a disappointing experience, especially considering the price. The property feels outdated and poorly maintained, making it hard to justify the cost. The rooms lack air conditioning, and the temperature is centrally controlled, meaning you have no ability to adjust it yourself. This made the room extremely uncomfortable. When I raised this issue at reception, the response was unhelpful they offered a noisy fan or suggested simply opening the window. Despite booking for single occupancy, the room contained three beds, leaving very little space to move around. As I was staying for several days, I requested that the extra bed be removed, but this was met with reluctance and poor service. The bathroom was another major downside. It was not properly cleaned, and the bathtub was unusable due to the absence of a water stopper. Overall cleanliness and maintenance standards were clearly lacking. Basic amenities were also missing. There was no kettle or even a table, which made the stay inconvenient. Additionally, the corridors are very noisy, and sound travels easily even with the room door closed making it difficult to relax or sleep. Finally, the mattresses were very hard and uncomfortable, clearly in need of replacement. Overall, this stay did not meet expectations and felt overpriced for the quality and service provided.

The hotel was not clean at all. The room was extremely small, and there were hairs on the bed, which was very unpleasant. They had also forgotten to provide toilet paper in the room. The windows could not be opened, and there was no ventilation, so we had to sleep with the door open just to get some air. Overall, it was a very poor experience, and unfortunately, we no longer feel we can trust Booking.com.

Great location, walking distance from many places and the Metro. Basic but clean and functional room if a little dated in places. Friendly and helpful reception staff.
Some aspects need a little modernisation. WiFi was unusable most of the time.
