Great location in heart of Gotico section of town which had access to great bars, restaurants, shopping, etc.
Internet never worked. Due to where the hotel is located and construction in area, upon arriving in Barcelona, it appears as if many taxi drivers do not like to drive passengers there. Took a few attempts but we were able to find one.

First room I was given was 100% UNacceptable. Horrible. Enough to move hotels. It should be a storage room NOT a room for a human. especially at that price. But the smart, professional, kind Emilio at the front desk changed me to a terrific room Had he not done that, this review would be very different.

Location
We were given first floor room, noise on the streets until 3am, every night. Air conditioning wasnt working well. Room seemed filthy. Only a thin, worn out bedsheet and even thinner bed cover. Pulled out a brown blanket from closet just to feel covered at night and couldnt bear to use it because doubted its cleanliness. Electricity was malfunctioning in one room and one very rude employee said that it wasnt his job to fix the problem. Very, very mediocre breakfast. Breakfast attendant was nice and friendly. Overall, couldnt wait to check out.

I like the location, its close to everything.
The staffs except for one guy in the day shift. A lot of them didnt seem to care. They didnt help us carry our luggage when we first arrived. The second day, we needed a taxi to go the auto bus Nord, we almost didnt make it to our Monserrat tour because the front desk night shift guy said they cant call the taxi. I expressed my frustration to the guy on day shift. I was worried when we leave to the airport when we checked out, he gladly reserved a taxi for us for the airport when we checked out.

The location in the Gothic Quarter was excellent. Ivan at reception could not have been more welcoming and helpful and spoke English well.
Absolutely no frills eg no tea bags or coffee, empty bar fridge, no tissues etc. As expected it is a very old building with a slow lift.
