Decor in the room and hotel public spaces was great, in room outlets and bathroom were nicely useful, and mattress was nice. Location was great
Alley near hotel is quite dirty, my key card got deactivated early for some reason, and the elevators are really slow.

I absolutely loved my stay at Hotel España! It’s such a unique and stylish hotel, with beautiful character and a really distinctive atmosphere. The rooms were incredibly comfortable, and the air conditioning was excellent, which made a huge difference during the warm summer weather. The rooftop was another highlight, providing a lovely space to relax and enjoy the surroundings. The location was fantastic too, making it easy to explore the city and get around. Overall, a beautiful hotel that combines comfort, style and a great location. I would happily stay here again!
Honestly, there was very little to fault during my stay. If I had to mention one small thing, it would be the breakfast service. Some of the hot breakfast items need to be ordered directly from the staff, and on occasion, it was a little difficult to get their attention. This was a very minor issue overall and certainly didn’t take away from what was an excellent stay.

The Hotel decor is truly beautiful. The staff were all very welcoming, helpful and bi or multi-lingual. There was a big thunderstorm whilst we were staying so we could not use the pool, however we were made most welcome at the sky bar, where the food was delicious and the cocktails (interesting with a modern twist) were delightful. Location is just steps from La Rambla and all that it had to offer. We heard no noise from outside the hotel during the night. Just a short walk to the beach end of La Rambla.
my daughter was not massively keen on the glass door on the toilet, even though it was opaque not clear, and the design was quite beautiful and fitted with the room decor.

Excellent location right next to Liceu metro which is so convenient for the main attractions. Round the corner from La boqueria and only 10/15 minute walk to lots of fantastic places to eat and drink. Lovely interior design and comfortable rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. Great bar on the roof and in the lobby
There was no natural light into either of our rooms which was a shame in the morning to wake up and also to see what the weather is like to decide what to wear!

We had our first trip to Barcelona with my 13-year-old son, and we are so happy we chose Hotel España.
We chose the hotel mainly because of its central location, and it was perfect for exploring the city. We could easily reach everywhere we wanted to go.
The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful, with amazing decor and a very stylish atmosphere. Our room was spotless, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. We also had breakfast at the hotel once and were very pleased with it.
The area around La Rambla may not be the best part of Barcelona, but every time we returned to the hotel, we felt comfortable and happy to be there. The hotel itself feels like a little oasis in the middle of the city.
We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend Hotel España.

Great location and ambience, great indoor decor. Breakfast staff were very attentive, although they should get a coffee machine that provides hot coffee.

Room was fantastic. Breakfast was superb. Staff were really attentive. Love the roof terrace, bar and pool. The hotels interior decor was stunning. Will definitely be back. Location was superb !!! The staff couldn't have done anymore to make my stay any better.

The hotel was beautifully decorated and had a lovely quiet rooftop with a small pool that my little sister loved. It had a view of the top of a cathedral and the surrounding mountains and was a great place to relax and cool down from the heat. It was easy to get everywhere from this location and you can even walk to some local attractions and onto a major shopping area. It has all amenities we could want.
There seemed to be gangs of people with barking dogs congregating outside at night and the rooms were not sound proofed against it. Even with ear plugs it was difficult to stay asleep. This might only affect rooms facing the back, so sound proofing the back would be helpful. If you are not a light sleeper it should not bother you
