I love this hotel, Have stayed multiple times when in Barcelona. It is so centraal and I loved that it is art deco.
This time, they gave me a bathroom with a tub. It was enclosed in glass and had a very steep tall side wherein there was no place to hold. I am 72 and then the water no matter how I situated the shower spilled all over the bathroom. I thought it was me but my assistant who is younger and shared my room had the same experience. I was truly afraid that I was going to fall. The concierge told me that they are well aware of this but should warn to take a shower room next time. Those bathrooms need corrections. I know they will remodel but 2 years from now is a long time.

Room had no window to outside, just to a fully enclosed sitting area. Couldn’t see streets, the town, or weather conditions/night or day. Some lights didn’t work. Lacked a restaurant, except a very pricey one that was only open certain nights.

Excellent location, had a junior suite - lovely and spacious - great views and room service food was exceptional. Possibly the best beef burger I have ever had!
The sliding doors got stuck a couple of times, nothing major just be careful as there a little heavy!

Staff was wonderfully helpful and attentive. We never heard the word no or we can't do that. 3 out of 4 rooms were on the same floor and close together. The 4th was 3 floors up but was easy to get to and an upgraded room from the others.

My first time at a “5 star” hotel / conde naste recommended stay so I had high hopes maybe ? But.
The air conditioning in the room never actually got cold. It was a heat wave, and I was grateful for anything, but I’d rather have a mini split than central air that doesn’t fully function …
One of the blinds in the room was missing a piece and didn’t close all the way. There’s no fan in the bathroom (I think typical in Europe), a light in one of the closets was broken so it didn’t ever turn off, a small handle in the shower was missing…
So many “little” things that made this not a 10/10. Barcelona locations are expensive and I booked this explicitly in part to not be part of the “Airbnb” / short term rental problem in the city but it left a bit to be desired.

Location, roof top bar, oversized king bed, great selection for breakfast buffet.
The hotel’s location was excellent and made it a convenient base for exploring the area. However, the room itself felt quite dated and could benefit from refurbishment. The furniture made the room feel cluttered, and the TV unit was positioned directly in front of the bathroom door, which was inconvenient, especially at night.
The bathroom was the biggest disappointment. The toilet did not flush properly, the vanity was damaged, and the bathtub was difficult to get in and out of. It also appeared stained due to its age, which detracted from the overall cleanliness and comfort of the room. While the location was a definite highlight, the accommodation would greatly benefit from modernisation and improved maintenance.

98% of the employees were kind, friendly and very helpful. We got there early before our room was ready and they gladly took our luggage to store and we went off and toured the city. It was a great location for shopping. They have a very nice buffet breakfast.
I booked 2 twin beds on booking.com and when I got there we were put in a room with one king bed. When I asked the gentleman at the desk regarding this he basically said "nothing is guaranteed." When I asked him about getting bottled water, he said to order room service and pay for it. I then went up to the roof top bar and asked the hostess and she said oh no just push "9" on your phone and they will bring it to you for free. Our first night, there was a street/block party, so the music was blaring until 10pm, luckily it was only for Saturday night. Our balcony door was not closed 100% of the way, so noise was more noticeable and the room got warm.

I didn’t like that they didn’t give us access to the terrace unless we specifically requested it, which I had to do 3 times before someone came up to provide the key.

The location, the staff, the terrace, the food.
Air conditioning in our room never worked properly during our weeklong stay. The shower was an improvised, and incomplete installation. There were no bedside tables.

Beautiful exterior and impressive cafe/bar/restaurant on ground floor. Roof terrace was exceptional with lovely staff who made it a fantastic experience!
Roadworks outside were disappointing - one of those things that can’t be helped but was a surprise and hadn’t been notified about. We had the family room(s) and hadn’t expected rooms to face a wall. Didn’t help that we arrived about 4pm so rooms were really dark as sun had moved to the other side. Last time we’d stayed we had the same room type but on a higher floor so these rooms compared very poorly :(
I would expect to pay less for rooms with no view. Pool should be described as a plunge pool, tiny.
A few house keeping issues -
shower head can’t be directed down the way which presents a challenge, socket off the wall, knob for volume missing in one of the bathrooms

Great pillows, great brekafast, Bellman were awesome and reception staff very nice. Housekeeping staff very good. Roof top bar was awesome adn staff there very good, Expecially Neibeth, Melanie, Roger, HEctor.
Furniture in the room was old and beat up, scratched and dented, Doors didn't close by minibar, marble falling off wall of tub, Towel rack on the sink almost off.
Also would be expecting double sink in a $600/night hotel.
