The hotel staff were friendly, helpful and very supportive.Especially Oscar,
Hector and the others at the Front Desk were exceptionally great. The breakfast was lovely and the location side of a Netro station so very well located sbd connected.

The air conditioner was excellent. The room was modern, comfortable, spacious, and clean.
There weren't any modern outlets for different device cables. The rooms on the main avenue on a lower floor and if you're a light sleeper, you will hear everything until 3:00 a.m. Request an inside room or a high floor for a less noisy night

Location , there is a metro right next to it . Bid beds, big bathrooms , great staff
The room itself did not provide bathroom amenities, the pillows were uncomfortable, the shower valve needs to be adjusted (could not asjust it to warm water ) for breakfast, they should offer fried eggs , and fresh coffe

Amazing hotel and such a lovely experience! ?
The reception team was super welcoming and always ready to help with any questions. Special shoutout to Oscar — he was so much fun, gave us loads of great tips on where to go, and was absolutely adorable! ?
I especially loved doing my workouts on the rooftop under the sun and then cooling off in the pool. Such a great experience and definitely one of my favourite things about the hotel!
The rooms are perfect — spacious, clean, and really comfortable.
Overall, an amazing hotel — would definitely stay here again! ✨
The only thing worth knowing before coming is that the hotel is located near an area that can feel a little sketchy (not the hotel’s street itself, but the neighbourhood just behind it). That said, it didn’t affect our stay at all.

We had a stopover in Barcelona on our drive to Alicante and we chose to stay at Hotel Barcelona Universal, this was a great decision later as everything from comfort to cleanliness and service were tip-top.
Rooftop pool was amazing and we made good use of it on the warm summer day of August.
Rooms are well laid out and come with all the necessary amenities.
The breakfast was again a 10/10.
The check-in process could have been slightly faster, as I had already pre-checked in by entering my details ?

I had such an amazing stay, and the staff was truly wonderful. I will remember Dahlia every time I have chamomile tea — she recommended it as a hangover cure, and it actually worked! Her recommendations for good shopping spots were priceless as well.
Anargyros also had great tips about places to visit and things to do, and my friend was delighted to have someone she could converse with in Portuguese. Both of them were incredibly friendly and accommodating, and their attitude really made us feel welcome and relaxed.
The room itself was great: spacious, very clean, with excellent air conditioning and plenty of closet space, which I particularly appreciated. The hotel also has a lovely pool — small, but very nice to have after a day out in Barcelona. The location is extremely convenient, with a metro station just a minute away, so getting around the city is incredibly easy. Breakfast was delicious too, with a good variety and plenty of fresh fruit.
Overall, the staff here have set a new benchmark for hospitality. Better soundproofing would make the hotel pretty much perfect :) But even without it, I will definitely stay here again the next time I visit Barcelona.
The only downside was the noise from the street. At the beginning of our stay, we requested a room change because of it, but we ended up not liking the new room quite as much and asked for our old one back. All this back and forth was handled impeccably by Carlos at reception, with amazing patience and a great sense of humor.

Overall, it was a pleasant stay. The staff were very nice, friendly, and helpful. The location is very good and convenient, with a metro station right in front of the hotel, which makes it easy to get around the city. Breakfast was very good, with a nice selection of food. A good choice for a comfortable stay.

The perfect walkable location with many restaurants and shops around the building. The rooftop pool was nice. The restaurant on site had delicious European cuisine, for breakfast including honey, cinnamon sticks and fresh mint. I was able to program my TV for English which was a nice surprise. The Staff was friendly especially house keeping. This was a pleasurable stay since my prior stay in Barcelona was a nightmare. When booking a hotel in Barcelona this will be the first location that I will check for future cruises ?.
During this stay some room amenities were missing and if my daughter had not informed me what she received in her room I would not have known. The room was comfortable however, I would have liked more lighting and at least one USB connection.

We really enjoyed our stay here! The hotel is in a great location steps away from the metro, walking distance to the Magic Fountain, Port Vell, and La Rambla. Pool was a much appreciated siesta highlight!
We had two room rooms booked. So,maybe it was difficult to have two rooms together, but one of the rooms only had a frosted window to an interior hallway/courtyard that was connected to some noise that could be heard from the pool. It also had a slight odd smell.
But our other room was great with no complaints!

I paid city tax cash at the check out (my card was declined)July26 but now I see that transaction went tru so I been charged double and today Aug12 they charged me another $115 I want refunds total $--- not an honest place !!!

Very good room in terms of size, excellent staff with very helpful suggestion in terms of attractions and eating out and location next to the metro station
Bit more variation in terms of breakfast would be good. You can hear noises from the corridor and the outside but this not bothered as too much
