It was very stuffy, the window looked into a closed courtyard and I couldn't even ventilate the room. The air conditioner couldn't cope.

Hotel Amèrica is an excellent choice for travelers looking for a chic, mid-sized hotel that feels more personal than a large chain. It’s particularly well-suited for couples and urban explorers who want high-quality facilities and a prime location without the frantic noise of Las Ramblas.

Very decent breakfast for a European hotel, good location
During booking, booking.com showed pictures of a room with window looking outside to city and selected that as a non cancellable booking, when I arrived at the hotel I was told the confirmation was sent for a basic room, went up to the room to find out that meant a room with a window looking at the inside corridor and elevator doors. The so called basic room was not viewable in bookingcom for any date over the following 12 months. Hotel staff said it's a booking com technical issue. Raised a complaint, booking asked me to provide proof that I didn't select a "basic room" which was not present or bookable in bookingcom for any date for this property. Level 2 genius long time bookingcom user severely disappointed for paying 350eur per nite for a 12m2 windowless room due to misleading pictures and information. I feel let down by both the property and bookingcom. I will never do a non cancellable reservation on bookingcom again, everyone using this service also should take screenshots/recording while they are doing the bookings as apparently it is the only way to dispute anything with them

Location was excellent for a short walk to Las Ramblas. The concierge suggested a brilliant, local restaurant which was excellent. We took a short taxi ride to Sagrada Familia as taxi's are plentiful. The family suite was perfect for a family of 4.
