The "Deluxe Room" (522) was beautiful with an outside sitting area that was amazing. Unfortunately we only were here three days but it was beautiful at night to go outside and hear the sounds of la RAMBLE and the city.
Room 522 was truly beautiful BUT we could not understand the sounds that were through the walls at night and during the day. It appeared that there was a door leading to a staircase exit next to our room but it also sounded like a subway or elevator was adjacent to our wall and it was loud. In fact, I woke up at 4:00AM since there was commotion in that area and it was disconcerting. I asked the receptionist when we checked out what was the cause of all these sounds and she didn't know. So, a word to the wise about room 522.

Beautiful hotel in a very convenient area. The room was well provisioned and spacious. Afternoon sandwiches, biscuits and coffee in the foyer was a great touch
no air conditioning in our room meant that it was so so hot and uncomfortable to sleep

The staff were friendly and welcoming! They took our luggage off our hands and safely stored it so we could start exploring. The hotel has an amazing rooftop and an even more amazing and luxurious spa with pool and sauna. There’s a cozy and delicious paella restaurant around the corner recommended by the staff—it was both delicious and a great deal. The hotel is centrally located but private and quiet.
The signature scent in the lobby was a little pungent but we didn’t spend much time in the lobby, so no biggie. Everything else exceeded expectations.

Sandra and the front desk team were so helpful, empathetic to our needs and making sure our stay was amazing. Everyone at H1898 were very pleasant and helpful. The bed was amazing - best sleep! The breakfasts were delicious, providing a good mix of continental and cooked food. The seasonal fruits were nice. The spa and leisure facilities are top notch.
We come from a part of the world that does not do tipping, we pay our staff a good wage. Some information on what H1898 expects in terms of tipping staff would have been helpful.

Front desk staff was wonderful in answering questions.
Safe was hard to figure out. It is located on a shelf about waist hight, so we needed to bend at an uncomfortable angle to use. Also, it would be great if directions were in other languages. Thermostat was also difficult to understand. Don't totally understand, but it didn't work until I called the desk and they turned it on.
