Hotel 1898 has an excellent location! Just steps off La Rambla and in the heart of Barcelona. Surrounded by many restaurants and shopping options and is conveniently located near Starbucks and Carrefour. Our guestroom was comfortable and quiet, with excellent climate control.
It took a bit of trial and error to figure out the shower, but that was totally on me, as there was an instruction card.

Best staff ever. From the person welcoming you at the door, the front desk to the room service. Super professional staff and all friendly and helpful. The location is great and the hotel is super chic.

Central location.
Breakfast quality is rather average. They went back to last years breakfast service - while there is a friendly host - their team does not mention the option to order omelets, scrambled eggs etc.
Rooms are rather old, dark and cooling system hard to regulate. Bathrooms are old.
