Location is ideal being near the down town & the beach. Staff are very good & enough supportive. Room is comfort & clean. The room has aircondition, safe box, mini bar, & hot drinks kit. Breakfast is very good as usual in Holiday Inn Express Hotels' chain. Wifi is very good as well. Surrounding area is safe with commercial & dinning opportunities.
Family room size was a bit smaller.

Great selection of tasty breakfast foods and for continental, they still had 2 or 3 various hot options daily, eggs, or mushrooms, etc. Rooms were clean and daily housekeeping if you wanted it. Were happy to give you toilet roll/new towels if you didn't want the full housekeeping. Beds were comfy and whilst the room we had did not have a lot of spare floor space as we used the fold out bed for the kids, we were not in it enough for that to be a problem. Great shower pressure. Aircon worked well in July heat. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable of the area with great tips too. Mini fridge in the room was excellent too. Shops nearby you could stock up on a few essentials.
Being such a vibrant city that stays up late/eats late, we were often home late. and the beds are comfy so we did often sleep a bit late! Breakfast was a VERY hard stop at 1030 and you were ushered out soon after for them to clean. Totally on us for not getting there early enough and having to queue (all buffet is on one side of the room, a bit like a canteen). But would have been nice, even if we were just asked to move to another area to finish up and have the option to be in the space and eat until 11am.

We had a pleasant stay overall. The staff were very friendly and genuinely tried their best to help, especially during breakfast, where they worked hard to make sure everyone could find a place to sit.
The location is excellent. There is a lovely pedestrian street with plenty of restaurants just a short walk away, leading directly to the beach. There is also a supermarket nearby and the metro is within easy walking distance. We really appreciated the possibility of refilling our own water bottles and the ice machine — very convenient!
There were a couple of downsides. Unfortunately, our room had a connecting door to the neighboring room, and the soundproofing was very poor. I had specifically requested a quiet room, so this was disappointing. We noticed the issue quite late and therefore didn’t ask to change rooms, so perhaps this could have been avoided.
Breakfast was another issue. The queues were very long and the breakfast area clearly seemed too small for the number of guests. The staff were doing their best, but it looked like the hotel simply wasn’t designed to handle such a large breakfast crowd comfortably.
Overall, a good hotel with a great location and lovely staff, but the noise insulation and breakfast capacity could definitely be improved.

the sofa bed is too small for two people. It should be two single beds and then the people don't end rolling into the middle of the sofa and disturbing everyone's sleep - - two single beds please

The location was excellent, with easy and convenient access to the beach, making it ideal for enjoying the seaside and relaxing during the stay.
The breakfast experience was disappointing. There were long queues every morning, which was completely unexpected and made breakfast unnecessarily stressful. The quality and variety of the breakfast options did not meet our expectations, especially considering the price we paid for the hotel. The selection was very basic and did not offer good value for money.
We were also disappointed that no complimentary bottles of water were provided in the room, and there were no room slippers. These may seem like small details, but they are basic amenities I would expect from a hotel of this standard and price.

We stayed in a family room with a large double bed and a fold-out sofa bed for our two daughters, aged 10 and 12, and found it really comfortable and ideal for our stay.
The room was very clean, well equipped and had excellent air conditioning, which was particularly welcome in the Barcelona heat. There was a hairdryer, kettle with tea and coffee, flat-screen TV, plenty of power sockets and nice Dove toiletries, including hand wash, shampoo and shower gel.
The hotel has some really useful touches too. There’s a water fountain in reception for refilling bottles, as well as an ice dispenser, and plenty of comfortable seating. The underground parking was excellent and very convenient, with direct lift access into the hotel.
The location is fantastic for exploring Barcelona. We could easily walk to the beach and there are plenty of good restaurants and cafés nearby. There’s also an Anytime Fitness gym directly underneath the hotel where you can buy a day pass, and a lovely bakery literally next door to the entrance selling excellent pastries and cakes.
The staff were really friendly and helpful, and everyone we dealt with spoke English. We also noticed that staff have the languages they speak displayed on their badges, and many were multilingual.
Overall, a very clean, comfortable and convenient hotel in a great location. We had a really enjoyable stay as a family and would happily stay here again.
The underground car park, although extremely convenient, is very tight. The entrance involves a very steep descent around a corner, and the exit is equally steep, so it can take a bit of care and skill, particularly in a larger car.
The main negative for us was breakfast. It became extremely busy and we initially had to queue to get into the dining area and then queue again for the hot food. By the time we had got in and collected our breakfast, we had probably spent around half an hour queuing, so it was a little frustrating to then be approached by a member of staff and told that breakfast would be closing in ten minutes.
There was plenty of choice, although the hot breakfast isn’t particularly geared towards British tastes — which, of course, you wouldn’t necessarily expect in Spain. The hot selection included scrambled eggs, mushrooms and, slightly unusually for us, green peas, alongside salad and other options. There wasn’t anything resembling a full English breakfast.
On the positive side, the croissants and other pastries were lovely, there were the usual cereals and the tea and coffee were very good. The food itself wasn’t really an issue for us; it was mainly the amount of time spent queuing and how crowded breakfast became.
