A superb hotel situated perfectly central to all the amazing attractions and delicious restaurants around it.
Really enjoyed the hotel facilities especially the breakfast buffet which caters for all needs.

The staff are great, like a big family. The chemistry between them is wonderful and marriages and kids seem inevitable.
The shared areas are rather grand and glorious. The rooftop pool and bar is less than perfect in many ways, but even so, it's a lovely place with an amazing view.
The location is wonderful. Just round the corner from Placa de Catalonia - can't really get much better than that.
There are two types of rooms - the old ones with key or the new ones with cards. Everyone online grumbled about the old ones so we chose new ones.
The decor is functional but uninspiring. Low ceilings, cheap furniture. A bit Mercure. Our room had a window which looked out onto a light well. Yes technically it's a window but only just so. Couldn't see the sky and at nigh it was lit up so who knows if it even goes out.
The staff are great but they are kids. They do what they think appropriate rather than what they should do.
The pool was milky rather than clear. There was a band aid stuck on the side which was still there three days later when we left. No one ever cleared up the left over glasses or towels.
When there was a power cut there were no managers there to oversee. Again just kids left to fend for themselves. They did their best but frankly they were out of their depth.
And frankly the lack of management is a scandal. What on earth are they paid for? High time for a little reshuffle.

The room was comfortable and the staff were great. The breakfast is delicious. I'd highly recommend making sure you get a package with the breakfast included. It's really close to public transportation and to major sites. A lot of things are within walking distance. This is an excellent place to stay. All the positive comments that I read before choosing this hotel were right on point.

Great location, clean, good breakfast, large room, we had the Beatles suite on the 1st level
Did not get the room booked, we were supposed to have had a terrace and only had a very tight balcony.
Noisy Airconditioner, cut in and out all night. Unable to temperature control as it is one system throughout the hotel.
We were advised by staff that the tap water dId not taste good however in spite of the fact that it was very hot, only one bottle of water per person was provided free of charge for the entire stay. Our room cost approximately $600 AUD a night.
Could have had earlier breakfast time; 6.30am instead of 7.30 as most guests were already waiting for the breakfast room to be open.
The property is a little pedantic and not easily willing to help.

This hotel is exceptional, but the most outstanding element are the staff. My wife was admitted to hospital on arrival at the hotel and we received the utmost, genuine, care from everyone. Thank you everyone for your kindness and support. Simon and Pamela Hutcheson.
