Wonderful
Great location, close to the gothic quarter. Very pleasant staff. Lovely roof top bar with plunge pools.
Air conditioning in the room seemed to lose effectiveness during the night but it wasn’t too much of an issue

A very beautiful hotel; everything clean and nice. Great location.
My room (no 11) had music playing all night long. It was coming from the lobby (which the room is directly adjacent to) and it wasn’t perhaps loud, but it was clearly audible and it was disturbing my sleep. Finally I had to take sleeping pills to be able to sleep at all. I don’t really understand why is there a need to have music on at 3 am… It was my second stay at the hotel and the other time w writing was fine (but our room was at the third floor). The breakfast is very nice.

The hotel is charming, and the room was very comfortable and well designed. It is clear that they are aiming for a boutique experience, and in many ways they succeed. There were thoughtful touches such as a welcome note and a complimentary glass of champagne upon arrival. The location is also excellent, very close to the Gothic Quarter and within easy walking distance of many of Barcelona’s main attractions. The breakfast was good overall, and the hotel was a pleasant and comfortable base for exploring the city.
Honestly, the experience felt slightly inconsistent at times. There were several details suggesting a high-end boutique hotel, but some of them were not followed through properly. For example, the gym requires a special key to enter, but it has no air conditioning, so the only option is to open the window. There was also a water dispenser that had no water, and the notebook and pencil provided in the room were a nice touch, but the pencil had a broken tip and no one noticed during our entire stay. These are small details, but they create the impression that no one is regularly checking whether everything is working as intended. The reception staff were polite but not particularly attentive or welcoming. The breakfast was perfectly adequate, although after staying at the Riu in Madrid, it felt somewhat limited and less inviting, with small plates and a dining room that was quite cold. Overall, it is a good hotel with plenty of charm, but the level of service and attention to detail does not always match the boutique image it is trying to create.
