Lamaro Hotel provided a wonderful base for our family trip to Barcelona. The location is unbeatable – we were steps away from the cathedral and countless family-friendly restaurants and cafes. Our toddler loved the lively atmosphere! The staff were incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond to ensure we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Highly recommend, especially for families.

Breakfast was excellent, especially the pastries. Everything was hot and fresh. We were treated like royalty from the moment we arrived. Imad and Zhor were absolutely wonderful!!!

The TV / hotel entertainment system didn’t work well at all. Freezing pictures and audio. The system was unusable. The air conditioning worked for one day from 3.

Great location
Had to complain 3 times regarding a noisy service door beside our room,the issue was still not sorted when we left.Asked for some extra water in the room,which reception refused and said I had to go and buy it,ridiculous for a 5 star hotel.The constant noise from furniture in the room above,simple solution to put pads on the legs of the furniture.

Really perfect location, with great views and close to key areas like El Born and the Gothic Quarter.
Finishing of the refurbishment is not what you’d expect from a 5* establishment. Maintenance could be improved. Eg glazed doors didn’t close properly and thus outside noise proofing wasn’t good.

Location - great location, in the heart of the city, right opposite the Cathedral and very close to the Gothic Quarters, El Born etc. Room - big and comfortable room and bathroom (even bigger than it looked in the pictures) very nicely done and just generally felt very comfortable / spacious Terrace - we didn't use it much, but went up one evening and it had nice views of the Cathedral / rest of Barcelona
Small point but the room walls are really thin. For example, we could hear everything that was going on in the room next to us / above us and when the other room shower was running, it felt like the shower in our room was running. It didn't massively inconvenience us, but would be great if the hotel could somehow look into this

Great location and fabulous staff
The staff were amazing and I feel they are working really hard to make an old hotel be as good as it could be. The hotel is very noisy so we could hear every movement upstairs enough to keep us up at night. For a 5 star hotel the beds were as comfortable as a 2 star hotel. The mattresses need to be replaced. I definitely did not feel like I was staying in a 5 star hotel.
