There were some good points: it was clean, the breakfast buffet was decent, and most of the staff were kind, though the reception team seemed a little jaded. The guest mix is very much dominated by English tourists, with some Spanish visitors as well.
In the end, it just wasn’t what I was hoping for. If you absolutely must be in Albir, then this hotel is serviceable. But if you’re dreaming of a warm-weather holiday by the sea, there are hundreds of better—and often cheaper—choices.
I came here with some hope, drawn in by the name “Playa” and the four-star promise, but I left feeling more disappointed than anything else. Despite being called a beach hotel, it’s actually nowhere near the beach. You rely on a shuttle (free, thankfully), but the setting is far from what you imagine when booking a “Playa” holiday.
The hotel itself feels tired. The pool is about the size you’d expect in a private Spanish home, not in a resort, and the whole place is really in need of an upgrade. It feels small, dated, and not deserving of its four stars.
Room walls are well insulated but the did and windows were not. You could hear the people talking in the corridors and balconies till late at night. Not so restful.

The food and Restaurant service was very good!
Always fresh and good quality.
Nice garden and Pool area.
Very noisy at night times (until after midnight on 3 out of 4 nights) when we stayed at Easter weekend as there was a lot of youngsters (sports teams).
Our room was unfortunately on a low level and close to the atrium. The noise echoed from the reception/bar/ pool area.
We asked for a quiet room on a higher floor when we booked. Unfortunately we were allocated one of the noisiest rooms on the 2nd floor. We couldn't changed as the hotel was full.
Very disappointing as it wasn't as relaxing as we were expecting.
The reception received several complaints from other guests.

Location was good and breakfast
A bit boring. We went to spend mew year’s weekend. Spa was close, swimming pool was close, gym was closed. No entertainment in the evening. Nothing really for children , except a few arcade machines.
