Good
Great breakfast, staff was polite. Price was good.
Bathroom dirty. Although it was not the fault of the hostel and it is nothing they can fix, it was extremely noisy outside on the street all night. At one point, I was trying to sleep, and at 11 pm at night, a maintenance person knocked on my dorm room door and woke me up saying he needed to repair one of the beds because another guest would come. Although I do understand the need to repair the bed , this should should have been taken care of earlier in the day when no one was in the room....not at 11 pm when women might already be in their pijamas and trying to sleep.

Great place to meet new people and close by to many attractions east of the Nile. They also offer a tour to the west, making things more simple.

Rooftop is really cozy and the highlight of this property - the breakfast is also lovely. the people i met here were the best so it’s definiately working!
the location is good but a little bit hard to find as it’s tucked away but once you get in the rooftop is cozy

Breakfast so good, staff very kind and helpful, bed comfortable, towel furnished, a bit cold in the room (December) but blanket furnished, wifi ok
Shower close to toilet, fixed shower, no flexible, rooms are not soundproof, noisy street, no toiletries

Awesome breakfast!! I just loved their Egyptian/Arabic dishes.
Great value for money, for solo travelers or travelers with tight budget - you cannot miss this place.
Its a residential/local area - so no one will solicit/pester you.
Walking distance from the Nile Cornice. What else do you need?
Bed :-( I think the mattress is way past its lifespan, and needs to be changed.
Since it is a residential area, there will be some noise on the streets till late, avoid if you are "sound sensitive"

Wonderful
The staff! Tahta was very approachable, very helpful, and was always there to help us. He helped me arrange my transportation from the airport and tour of the Valley of the Kings. His staff were very generous and friendly and always attended to our needs. The location was great, close to the Karnak Temple and close to the Nile River. His hostel was clean, our room was a bit small but there were only two of us most of the time I was there. Breakfast was great. I loved the eggplant dish. The other thing was the kitchen. It was always tidy, and organized. I like cooking when I’m traveling and the kitchen at the Happy Land was perfect.
Nothing really. Our bathroom can be cleaned everyday or every other day though but I think the staff just didn’t understand what we wanted every time we told them to clean our bathroom. But it’s ok. We’ll have to be clearer next time.

Good location. Breakfast was basic but delicious. Personal very friendly and helpful
Property itself very good, but we booked 3h sunset felucca trip and there was no wind. Felucca ship needs a wind to move. So a bit disappointed. Next time, manager could warn guests when he books them a felucca trip that there should be a wind

You'll meet many people. The common area in the rooftop is great, at any time of the day. The room is clean. The hosts are always available to help. Good breakfast
Toilet and shower are always a problem in Egypt, but were clean, fair enought

I recommend staying at the Happy Land Luxor due to its central location, great breakfast, picturesque terrace and nice staff. Good value for money!
I also would recommend you to find an hour or two to have an interesting chat about geopolitics and Egypt with Mahmoud, the owner of the property.
Best regards from Kasia. :-)
All good.

Honestly just a place to sleep in. The bathroom didn't even have a bar of soap. All it had was two toilet papaer rolls, no shampoo, no shower gel. They never checked if the room needed anything. They were friendly, but you had to ask for everything you needed. They had a good collection of books on the roof. The food was not by best experience.

Happy Land Luxor is located close to the Luxor temple and also near local shopping street. Just in the middle of tourist attractions and local markets (good supermarket with fixed prices is really close). Train station is also in walking distance.
The boss Mahmoud can help you with anything. Thanks to him I was able to do the trip to Dandara (70$) and Valley of the kings. The hearth of the hotel stays in the kitchen! Kind and talented chef prepared us delicious local breakfast and amazing Ramadan dinners after sunset. Both best I tried in Egypt even compared with hotel resort. Thank you again for that :)
Happy land and his amazing staff made my stay in Luxor really special!!!
1) Noise from the street during the night was little bit over my standards (but maybe it was because everyone was celebrating Ramadan at night)
2) Valley of the kings tour with "Aladin". The guide had some cheesy jokes about his photos with Leonardo di Caprio and Naomi Campbell (unfortunately only at home, so nobody can see it :). The worst of all was limited amount of time. The tour cost 10$, but we could stay in the Valley of the kings only 1 hour (approx. 10-20 min per tomb), even if it was last stop of the day (it consists also Medinet Habu and Hatshepsut Temple) it wasn’t possible to stay longer and visit more tombs.
Thank you for your information!
