Fantastic and relaxing stay made even easier by Yasmin who went out of her way to accommodate our needs upon arrival. The room was perfect, bed/pillows were very comfortable and bathroom was well designed and clean. Everything met our needs - even room service! We genuinely loved our stay in Luxor!

Yasmine and Breakfast
Steigenberger Resort Achti delivers a level of hospitality that is difficult to overstate—and much of that is due to one exceptional individual: Yasmin at the front desk.
We arrived around 9:00 AM, well ahead of standard check-in. Without hesitation, the team welcomed us, stored our luggage, and invited us to enjoy breakfast on the house while they worked to accommodate us early. That alone set a strong first impression. But what followed was something far beyond routine service.
Yasmin overheard a casual mention that it was my fiancée’s birthday and immediately took ownership of the moment. She approached us with genuine warmth, explained that the room wasn’t quite ready yet, and asked for a bit of time to prepare something special. There was no upsell, no expectation—just initiative.
Shortly after, we were escorted to our room ahead of schedule. What we walked into was a carefully staged, thoughtful surprise: towels crafted into a birthday cake and swans, accented with fresh flowers, creating a visual centerpiece that genuinely moved my fiancée. Yasmin didn’t stop there—she coordinated a full birthday setup, including a cake, candles, music, and even a gift, all provided without charge. It was executed seamlessly and with clear intent to create a memorable experience, not just complete a task.
This is the type of discretionary effort that defines elite hospitality. Yasmin demonstrated situational awareness, initiative, and a willingness to exceed expectations without prompting. From an operational standpoint, she is the kind of employee who sets the service standard and should be actively leveraged as a trainer or mentor within the organization.
Additionally, Sarah from the breakfast team deserves recognition. Her attentiveness and professionalism contributed to a consistently positive experience each morning.

We just checked out after a very pleasant stay. While our arrival had a small hiccup, I was incredibly impressed by how promptly and professionally the staff addressed the issue.
Instead of just a quick clean, the team immediately upgraded us to a new room. The following day, the manager reached out for a chat to personally apologize and generously provided free breakfast for our entire stay. To our surprise, another manager followed up later and upgraded us to a beautiful suite. We felt truly cared for and treated with genuine kindness throughout our visit.
The Highlights:
• Dining: The breakfast was solid—the omelets and the local yogurt with honey were our daily favorites. (Note: For lunch, we’d recommend the buffet over the à la carte menu, or exploring nearby local spots).
• Felucca/Sailing: We took a sailboat out from the hotel at sunset. At $30 for 3 people for 1.5 hours, it was reasonably priced and a magical experience.
• Convenience: There is a kiosk right outside the hotel gate where you can grab snacks and 1.5L water bottles for about 15 EGP—very handy!
Traveler Tips:
• Airport Transfer: We pre-booked a taxi from the airport for $12 USD. You can likely find cheaper rates if you hail one at the airport, but pre-booking was very convenient for us.
A huge thank you to the management team for turning a potential negative into a highlight of our trip. We highly recommend this hotel for its top-tier service recovery and hospitality!

If ever you're in Luxor - there's no other place that you should stay at other than Steigenberger Achti. Right from the moment we arrived, we were greeted by Magda and Yasmin. They showed us Egyptian hospitality and service second to none. In fact, all staff, right from the restaurant to room service, went out of their way to make us feel like VIP. The view of the Nile and the Valley of the Kings in the distance is simply magnificent. There's shops on the property that make souvenior buying a breeze, no haggling hassles. We were even treated to a special cake delivered to our room for our 20th wedding anniversary.
Steigenberger Achti stay was an absolute delight - one of our bests in Egypt. Thank you MAGDA and YASMIN!!!!
If I really had to be picky - the only thing I would say is that the shower water temperature can be lukewarm at "peak periods"

The location is lovely and peaceful. You can see the River Nile and Valley of the Kings from the restaurant porch. The staff are pleasant and polite. There are some shops inside and outside the resort. Taxi's, Uber rides, horse drawn carriages all available. I also had the full comprehensive massage session which was absolutely fabulous and much needed. I will definitely come back to the Steigenberger Resort in Achti.

Breakfast buffet was very good, desk staff and concierge were courteous and informative, swimming pools were clean and refreshing, room was quiet and restful. We were allowed to store our bags and lounge around the pool for 5 hours on our checkout day.
Staff interactions with each other were unnecessarily loud. Requested desk lamp was not delivered. Toilet malfunctioned one morning. Grilled halloumi sandwich had halloumi one day, but plain cheese the second time I ordered it. Spa owner was annoyingly aggressive, accosting us repeatedly with his menu of services (none of which had prices listed). Bungalow room faced service sidewalk, so we had to keep the shutters closed for privacy, making the room quite dark. First floor Nile view room was much nicer, although I was surprised that the terrace was shared with other guests. Would have preferred a higher floor, where the balconies are all private.
