All in all it was a good trip. I guess it just depends a lot on the expectations you have. Had this been a 3* hotel, I would have given it 10+, no questions asked. But for 5*, well, I would have expected something different. Let's start with the positive. Mohamed at the reception was absolutely awesome. He told us from the get-go he will take care of us and we should write him per WhatsApp when we need something. Very convenient. Mohamed is very professional - like a true 5* hotel manager. The citadel itself is also very pretty. It looks like in the photos and it's pretty cool to not spend your holidays just in a hotel, but in a whole small town, that being the resort. Awesome! The room was also very nice - thanks once again to Mohamed who has chosen it for us. The cleanliness was also great. So if you were afraid of this considering the country's reputation, well, everything is spotless. The cleaning personell is also really nice and profi. I would also mention the beach, which was not the best, but still very nice to go swim every day. The pools are also rather pretty, but unfortunately there's other people who ruin the experience.
It doesn't feel like a 5* at ALL. The place is very much family friendly, so if that's what you're looking for, jackpot! But usually these family hotels come with some downsides. The quality of food decreases, the noise level increases, sports equipment permanently broken, the activities for adults will suffer. They say it's Ultra All-Inclusive, but it's not ultra and definitely not "all" inclusive. There's this restaurant with fish, shrimp and stuff - not included. They were promoting a Valentine's dinner for ONLY $75. Hahaha! There's another restaurant that offers one free dinner per stay. Wow, how generous! Sure, there are other restaurants that offer breakfast, lunch and dinner for all the peasants, don't worry. Expect long queues, people cutting in line, people stealing food for later consumption because "the kids may want something". Gross! Expect basic food. Not bad at all, but just basic. Not the 5* you would imagine. There is only one restaurant that offers late dinner, but it's the worst. Would not recommend. If the personell is so annoyed that people came to eat and they still have to be there, why are they offering this service? An angry Egyptian waiting 2 meters from our table, for us to finish. And no, it wasn't closing time - it was like 2 hours before. There's a gaming area that has 3 billiard tables and one for table tennis. Families with kids who don't know how to play come and just kick the cue randomly and destroy the tables. The guy who is supposed to watch that everything runs smoothly just watches tiktok instead. Like 100% volume all the time - not even kidding. There's also a disco, but you need to pay entrance and for the drinks as well. All-inclusive, right? Haha! The coffee is very bad, but there's a Starbuck's on site. Well, you gussed it, also not included. People putting their kids with the diapers on the table where you may sit and eat later.

We had one of the best and most unforgettable nights of our lives at Pickalbatros Citadel Resort Sahl Hasheesh. Everything was beyond perfect! from the very first moment we arrived until the day we left.
The resort is absolutely dreamy, luxurious, spotless, and beautifully designed.
The room view to red sea was breathtaking, the atmosphere is peaceful and magical, and the entire property feels like a seaside paradise.
Every single detail is handled with great care.
The food is incredibly delicious, high quality, and with amazing variety.
Special thanks to Mina and Mohamed Magraby at the reception! They are reallyyyyyyyy outstanding, extremelyyyy gentlemanly, intelligent, friendly, and highly professional.
Their warm hospitality made our stay even more perfect.
We will definitely come back, and we highly recommend this resort to everyone looking for a magical and unforgettable experience?

Everything. This resort was absolutely stunning. We had an amazing time here. The resort is all inclusive and there are several restaurants and buffets to choose from. They also have multiple pools and beaches, and have entertainment throughout the day and night. Mohamed the receptionist was extremely welcoming and helpful. 10/10 recommend.
The only complaint is that there are no mirrors in the room.
