My actual stay was very pleasant. The room was excellent, very clean, and had a beautiful sea view. The staff at the hotel were welcoming and professional. The food was great, and the room service was outstanding — fast, efficient, and courteous.
I had a very disappointing experience with this hotel even before my stay.
Three days before my scheduled vacation, I received a phone call from someone named Roqaya from the reception asking me to cancel my reservation because the hotel was supposedly closed for maintenance. When I refused, she spoke to me in an aggressive and unprofessional manner and did not clearly confirm whether my reservation was still valid. This caused unnecessary stress and confusion just before my trip.
Two days later, I contacted the hotel again and discovered that the hotel was actually operating normally — only two floors were under maintenance while the other three floors were open and functioning properly. The information given to me initially was inaccurate and very concerning.
I hope management improves coordination and communication regarding reservations, as the hotel itself offers a very good experience.
Overall, while the pre-arrival communication was extremely disappointing and stressful, the stay itself was comfortable and enjoyable.

There were some workers on the floor they put me and I couldn’t sleep when I arrived because they were still working until 6:15 pm

What I liked most about the property was its excellent location, high level of cleanliness, and the refined and professional treatment from all the hotel staff — whether at the reception, security, room service, or housekeeping. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel and would like to sincerely thank to Jermeen and Haneen for their kindness and outstanding service.
What I didn’t like was that there was a connecting door between my room and the neighboring rooms, which affected my sense of privacy. I could hear conversations from the other rooms, and they could likely hear me as well when I spoke.

As a local Alexandrian, I have been dying to stay in a historic hotel in my home city. For my wife’s birthday, we decided to spend the night at Cecil. Overall, everything at the hotel was a 10/10: The rooms are clean and spacious, the staff are friendly and professional, and most important of all the view and location is phenomenal. Staying here makes you fall in love with Alexandria all over again.
The rooms are provided with soundproofing windows, but I wish they were of higher quality because the noise reduction was not up to my standard. There should be something worked out with the parking lot next to hotel because paying 245 EGP to park my car overnight should be included in my stay. Finally, the room only had Egyptian style outlets (the circle ones), not American/Egyptian ones. I am very surprised that the rooms still have this old style plug outlet, however the staff immediately provided me with adapters when I asked for one.

The hotel is centrally located and offers magnificent views of the Corniche and the Citadel. I loved everything about the hotel and the room i stayed in.. comfortable and soundproof. The welcome treats were a lovely touch.
