Great location in Old Town. Very much a character, historical property, dating back to 13th century. Rooms and facilities modernized, with good WiFi connection.
A minor problem with room temperature control: There is an old baseboard heater for cold nights, but no A/C on warm nights. A reciprocating fan in the upper bedroom would have been nice. (There is no onsite reception after check-in.) One must be careful with the slanted, low ceilings, as I bumped my head several times…my fault!

Excellent location just off the main square but quiet at night. Kitchen facilities are sufficient for basics. Very easy to check in and out and luggage can be stored.
It was quite hot in Tallin when there and while the skylight could be opened, it was still v hot in the apartment as no breeze. Steps to the apartment, not an issue for me but to note.

The location is excellent and I love the ambiance of the area, every time I visit it is magical. It is easy walking distance to anyplace in Old Town and even lovely spots in the city. It is an historic building, walking through the doors kind of feels like stepping into the past. I love the simplicity and history of the place, the convenience, and the kindness of the host and shopkeepers in the courtyard. It feels like returning to a home away from home, if my home were as magical as Tallinn.

Location is smack in the middle of the old city. Room is clean and the kitchenette is basic but very functional. The shower pressure was great and bathroom was of a good size.
It probably is time to re-grout the shower. There are some parts that it has started to look grimmy. The bed is on a 'mezzanine' floor and steps to go up there is a bit steep.

It was in an amazing location. Staff was pretty attentive.
The WiFi did not work well at all. Apparently the entire area shares WiFi and it is really slow in the room we stayed in. Since we were there in winter, we had early nights and just wanted to get work done, etc. that made it difficult.
They need a smaller bathroom trash so it actually gets taken out more than once during the stay. We stayed 6 nights and let’s just say it kind of needed to be taken out (no details needed) they just pressed it down instead of taking it out.) I even write them and asked them to take out the bathroom trash and it wasn’t done because it wasn’t full. I think the workers need to know that women sometimes need the trash taken out. Not sure how else to put this, but get a smaller trash can for the bathroom if you want it to be full before disposal.

Awesome place at the most cute yard in Old Tallinn.
I had everything I need. Very nice host and cozy place.
Wifi is not good at the place, like in other places at Old town.
Stairs to room can be very difficult for people with mobility problems.

I selected this accommodation because of its central location in Tallinn old town. All of the main tourist attractions and restaurants were all with easy walking distance of the accommodation.
Nothing to dislike. The apartment space was a little tight, but to be expected in an original building. Certainly, OK for solo travellers.

Situated in the old town, convenient walking distance to see the sights, shop, go to a restaurant etc
The room size was adequate but with only a velux window it felt claustrophobic. The stairs are very steep. The bedroom has a sloping ceiling and beams that encroach on the bed spaces. Everything is adequate but dated, it has the feel of a hostel.

Wonderful
My friend and I had a wonderful stay at Villa Hortensia. We came over for the half marathon, and spent a lovely few days going around the city. The hotel is in the prettiest courtyard in Tallinn, the Masters Courtyard. We loved coming back there every day. The room we were in had everything we needed and was clean and tidy, and our hosts were friendly and helpful. Thank you so much Villa Hortensia!
