Super nice property with large spacious rooms, good location and very friendly staff! You are walking distance to tons of restaurants and bars. Shanti and her mom was extremely kind and sweet and helped answer any questions we had. The two dogs and one cat was a nice addition to the staff too ;)

Gabe and Shanti were fantastic hosts making my stay there exceptional. They really make you feel like family not a guest. The room was quiet and comfortable. The location perfect for access to transportation. Morning breakfast was delicious. A perfect 6 day stay. I highly recommend this accommodation.

Gabi, Shanti, and Enrique are the best hosts. So helpful. The location is great. 15 minutes from the metro, and less than 5 minutes to the Ecovia bus stop. Lots of good restaurants close by.

I had a great 2-night stay at the Yellow House.
Gabi, the hostess, is super kind and friendly. She made me feel welcome and at home from the very first moment. Her family is amazing too, very friendly.
My private room was comfortable, the private shower had hot water all the time, and the WiFi worked great inside my room.
The location is perfect, 2-3 minutes walking from a lot of restaurants, cafes and shops, right in Plaza Foch.
It’s an old building so please don’t expect a 5-star luxury experience (they don’t clean every day, conditions are basics, hostel vibe, etc), but for the price you pay, it’s a great deal!

Those 2 ladies that run Yellow House are now part of my Family.
Facilities were an old house build about a hundred years ago high ceilings and spacious rooms.
The breakfast was something I looked forward to.with the Coffee being to die for.
Great location.

Very disappointing.
1. On arrival, they charged me more than the price on booking.com (charged me an extra commission fee plus a fee for using bank card instead of cash).
2. Checkin process was so slow, took like 15 mins.
3. There are dogs and dog fur everywhere, including on the bedsheets in my room. The dogs run towards you and bark all the time.
4. The lady who runs the property was so inappropriate. They do not list their guest policy on the website. Although it is partially my fault that i should have clarified what the guest policy is, but when my friend came to wait in my room instead of waiting in the car before dinner, she went upstairs and starting knocking on my room!!!
5. The worst part was this: the Breakfast!! I dont know how the runner of the property had the audacity to tell me “this is your breakfast”. I swear to God it was a small piece of tiny dry bread and 3-4 very very small slices of fruits. Like for real I still dont understand how she did that!! I wish i took a picture to post it here. Maybe she gave me leftover food or something. And then when she saw the disappointment, she asks if I want eggs, I said yes. And literally she did one egg (maybe 2 small eggs). I didnt eat any of the food and left.
I usually always give 10/10 to properties and hotels, and for me to give a bad rating it says a lot. AVOID THIS PLACE.

Both Gabi and Shanti were super warm and welcoming, which was all the more appreciated as the days were quite cold, and I was there over the New Year and by myself. I have rarely seen a hotel with an atmosphere that familiar, where I was included almost as a matter of course in all kinds of conversations and made comfortable in such caring ways.

I loved my stay here and I wish it was longer! I felt like home and extremely welcomed and well looked after. If I ever go back to Quito, which I might, I will definitely go back!
Super clean, nice breakfast, friendly owners (a family) and good location. I felt safe at all times.
All good. Just the usual in Latin America with older establishments, just bring earplugs and a sleeping mask. I never travel with them anyway.

It is a lovely place to spend a couple of nights. The Yellow house is near the Artsenal Market, City Parc and with plenty of nice restaurants around. Great people who run the hostel -very helpful to- and everything was as it should be. Enjoyed the breakfast to. Whenever in Quito I will visit again.

Such welcoming staff. A great family run place. Great flexibility allowed me to have an early check-in and a late check-out without any questions. Lovely courtyard in the front and useful local information. The breakfast was perfect for a morning start.
The disco next door was a bit loud on the Saturday night.

Cheap room - we didn't stay the night but used it till 10pm to get organised for an overnight bus ride to Cuyabeno - Nice staff - good vibes - bit like being at home with friends around - talking to the owners the state of emergency and curfew was obviously hurting - there had been loads of cancellations - I hope things improve

The best host I’ve ever met! They offer great service. I had a physical accident during my trip, and I needed to go to the hospital. Since I did not speak Spanish, the host went with me and translated for me. So glad that I chose the Yellow House!!! Highly recommended!!!
