I had a super comfortable stay. The staff were very accommodating, the breakfast was delicious, and my room was clean and comfy.
I was expecting to have access to a kitchen and a kettle, but this is more of a hotel than a hostel.

I liked everything about the place and people working there. It’s a very beautiful historic building in the center of Quito. The staff is highly professional and welcoming. They shared lots of useful tips for my travel program and always was smiling and assisting. The breakfast was delicious. They clean room every day
You should keep in mind that it’s a historic building and the water heats from boiler so it takes time to get warm but once it’s warm - it’s completely ok

The room was comfortable size as advertised. The bed and pillows were soft and we slept well. It is a quiet street and the room was also quiet and good for resting.
The shower did not really get hot, only warm. Sometimes there would hot water for a few seconds then barely warm again. We tried several tricks to get hot water (use low pressure, turn off ffor short period then on for hot water, run for long time to wait for hot, etc) but it stayed only warm. Our Spanish language skills are basic so we did not try to explain the problem to the hotel staff.

Many stairs. Perhaps offer, if possible lower level floors for people asking for that. Stairs are narrow and difficult to carry luggage.

Big old house with a rooftop sitting area, free filtered water and good breakfast including natural fruit juice. Staff is helpful and the historic center is a short walk away.

I book my room with private bathroom and they give me a share bathroom and the room was really cold. The stairs were killing me with the altitude.
I ended up book another place in La Carolina.
The stairs with the altitude sickness, and the share bathroom because I like to woke up in the middle of the night to used the bathroom and it was cold outside.

The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming and gave great suggestions for restaurants and things to do in the area. The free breakfast is delicious. The rooftop was nice to hang out on. They provide free water.
We have some suggestions for improvements for the room, because if these things are improved, it could be so much better. I wish we had a better stay because the staff is so friendly and kind, but we did not. Our room smelled like sewer backup that was coming up from the floor drain/toilet in the bathroom. It also smelled like mold and the room felt damp. The shower door leaked water over the floor and the toilet tank was making a hissing sound. The mattress felt like springs and the pillows were thin. We would not stay here again.

Layout really ideal. Breakfast good and staff excellent.
Hooks and hangers!! How else to hang anything. Loft below ceiling extremely dangerous to bump head. Paint a different color or something for eyes to catch before disaster. Lastly, confirmation did not say sharing bath. I could have had single room with bath at same price with a bigger bed. Your description could be more overt. The door noise in the sharing corner not nice.

Nice showers, hot water and good pressure
They didn’t respond to our booking.com messages about a late arrival time (our bus was delayed until 2am), so we didn’t feel comfortable going there from the drop off point so late at night without verification that someone would be there to receive us. We ended up staying somewhere else, but we stopped by in the morning to use the showers. I’m sad we couldn’t stay there because it cost us money and it was nicer than where we ended up. They were completely unresponsive on Booking.com messages.

Location was great for walking around the historic part of Quito! Breakfast was good, staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Good value.
Only negative is there was occasionally a sewer smell in the bathroom.

I loved the hostel staff (reception, kitchen, and housekeeping). They were always available to answer my questions.
The location is a major plus, just a few minutes from Plaza Grande.
The room is spacious and well-maintained.
I highly recommend this hostel.

The staff is amazingly friendly and helped us with everything. We stayed here for 5 nights in total, because the place felt comfortable and safe. Showers come with a little instruction, but work fine and are warm. Breakfast is good and the location can hardly be better. We liked it
