Absolutely impeccable place. The family who own this gem are kind and so helpful. This house has impeccable rooms, hot showers and a beautiful rooftop where you can relax and overlook Quito. When we return we would not consider staying anywhere but here.
I can’t end this review without speaking of the breakfast - it is made to order , hearty and excellent. We left early in the morning for a tour - an excellent breakfast and was provided. I can’t recommend this place enough……

Eduardo was extremely helpful with giving me advice about seeing the sights of Quito, using public transportation, restaurants, etc. I was grateful that he is bilingual so I could back up my poor Spanish with his good English. Angela's breakfasts were generous and delicious.
I had arranged for a single night, but ended up returning for two more nights after an out-of-town excursion.

The room and bed, were very comfortable, clean, and contemporary. Kitchen to have a cup of coffee or tea any time. The breakfasts were freshly made, very good quality, fruits, eggs, local baked pan, fresh juice. The location is a 15 min walk to the Basilica or plaza Grande. The produce market a few minutes away, many eateries around. Highly recommend! The best value for money!

Everything! I travel a lot, and this host is exceptional. The care, the extra mile he was going to make our stay memorable are beyond any expectations. We have to live earlier? Breakfast is ready early! And what breakfast! Home made, fresh, tasty! If we have to go too early, the breakfast to go is waiting, carefully packed! The quality of the whole hotel and the room are also exceptional! Highly recommend!

The host was fantastic! The room was excellent, the breakfast was beyond our expectations. Freshly squeezed juice, eggs, fruits, traditional bakery, coffee. The only thing was hard for us old folks to get up a very steep street. The rest was worth the effort! We felt so welcomed in this nice, beautiful hostel!

I liked everything. Great mattress, great location, amazing breakfast and the family who runs it it’s so nice and helpful. They even gave me a ride to Baños. I highly recommended it. Also very quiet at night which it’s not easy in Quito. It has a rooftop with view to all Quito.

The entire place is spotless. The owners live on site and are helpful. Eduardo is very helpful with recommendations on where to eat and which streets are well lit for walking. He recommends when to walk and when to take a taxi/Uber. He also arranged for a seamless airport/hotel transfer. The breakfast is home cooked each morning and includes fresh fruit, fresh juice, eggs, pastry, cold cut meat, empanadas, and coffee/tea. It lasts me all day. This hotel has a stunning roof top view of the city.

The breakfast was superb. More than I could eat; excellent quality; fresh and yummy. The staff - Eduardo and Veronica - and their parents - were so helpful with anything I needed. They gave great suggestions and were there for me anytime needed. The room was quiet, you could use the refrig and make yourself a cup of coffee or tea whenever you wanted; they would provide laundry service if you wanted. I can't imagine a better place. I also liked that it was located only a few blocks from the historical district - an easy walk there and back. Perfect for my needs.
Honestly, I can't think of anything they could improve.

Eduardo of KindeHaus has been praised by everybody in the ratings. I am proud and happy to join his fanclub now, too.
For me he is the soul of Ecuador, my first contact in that superb country, in Quito, who gave me a wonderful introduction to this marvellous corner in the world.
I stayed at his place 11-16.1.2025 and loved every moment.
KindeHaus is so homely, cozy and comfortable. And the breakfast served by far the best in the whole country. Such a variety of fruits, smoothies, omelets, pastries, empanadas, bread, butter, cheese, jam, superb coffee...
He also has a visitor's kitchen with filter water and a fridge loaded with icecold beer, which a guest can happily enjoy eg. in the beautiful upstairs terrace.
Eduardo is so helpful, kind and capable in everything. He eg helps you to get a local sim card, Netflix to your room, takes care of your laundry and is even helping you to clean the mess, which the local thiefs can cause: they throw some dirt on you and then try to rush to clean you from your belongings. They did not luckily get anything from me, and Eduardo cleaned the rest!
The location of KindeHaus is also great: near the historic centre. You only avoid a couple of nearby streets after the dark. Ubertaxis are efficient and very cheap, however.
Eduardo told that many guests of KindeHaus have returned and some even several times. I am surely going to be one of them, in the future, too.

I spent three nights in Kinde House and decided to come back for two more after my trip to Galapagos. The rooms are spacious and very clean, there is a kitchen where you can make yourself a tea or coffee, slice your fruit.... The owners are very nice and helpful. Breakfast is amazing. As a solo traveller, I got all the information I needed and felt welcomed and safe.
