Clean, comfortable , staff was great, views are amazing from the roof terrace. Actual hot water plumbing. Provided towels and such.
Private room was small, one window was covered by a brick wall a few inches away.

First of all, the price was quite pleasant. I was solo, and the single room cost me 18 dollars. Nice view from the terrace, but that’s where all the positives end, and for me there were more negatives than positives.
As for the cons, here’s what stood out:
1. Payment is cash only, and there is no information about that anywhere. Luckily I had some dollars with me, because they didn’t accept my card.
2. My room was on the first floor (first floor after the lobby), room number 6. It was pretty noisy, you can hear everyone walking by. There are no windows facing outside, which means no natural light. Instead, there’s one small window facing the staircase — and because of that, it was bright all night from the corridor lights.
3. In the morning I couldn’t take a hot shower. I waited 10 minutes, and the water stayed cold the entire time. I don’t know, maybe there is no hot water at all. I ended up taking a quick cold shower because I had no choice, I was rushing to catch a bus.
4. Breakfast was a joke. A tiny sandwich with one slice of cheese. An omelet made from one egg. Instant coffee. That’s it. Honestly, I felt even hungrier after this “breakfast”, it only made me more hungry.

It had an old charm to it. There was a weird smell at certain times of the day coming from outside of my window but other than that I enjoyed the property. If you have issues with stairs, probably not the best place as everything is up a couple of flights. The view from the top was AMAZING!!! It was beautiful during the day and night. If you have time, take one of their tours
Just the weird smell that would come through my window at night. Nothing they could do about it. And the internet was a little unstable. Also, being charged for water. As a person that drink a fair amount of it, keeping change handy for water was eh.

The breakfast is delicious. At such a low price, I recommend upgrading your room to include it. It's also served on the rooftop with stunning views of both the historic center and modern downtown area. There are metro stops, bus stops, and tram stops nearby, which makes moving around very easy. Additionally, there are quite a few restaurants and shops nearby. The staff are always friendly and very accommodating. Do remember to bring cash, though, as they do not accept credit cards.
The location is great, but it is a hike to get to the hotel. Literally. Unless you arrive by car directly to the hotel, you will have to walk up a lot of stairs. I've been living in Ecuador for a while, but I still struggle on those stairs, especially when carrying my luggage. I've noticed I don't leave the hotel as much as I normally would because I dread those stairs. This is something to take into consideration if you have mobility issues or anything that would prevent climbing numerous flights of stairs with luggage. A taxi is a great alternative option if you are willing to spend that extra money.

I really love the privacy and comfort of these rooms. The bathroom always has nice hot water with strong water pressure. The breakfast is a really nice spread considering the price, and it's served with a fantastic panoramic view of Quito. The location is great as well. It's near the metro station with lots of fantastic restaurants nearby. Additionally, there are stores both big and small to grab anything you may need.
The wifi didn't work as well as my previous stays. I was in a different location than normal, so your internet connection may depend on your room. My main complaint is in regards to the location. While it is a great location, it is very difficult to get to. The hotel is looked at the top of a hill with lots of stairs to climb. This may not be feasible for some people. If need be, you could hire a taxi to drive you up. The stairs are just a lot after a long day of traveling while carrying all of your luggage. Please take your physical state into account when booking.

Ecuador is famous for coffee and it’s sad to see instant coffee for breakfast, could have been improved.

Pros - location, view and staff
Cons - very basic rooms in need of updating with one plastic chair as furniture, roof top bar not staffed, TV kept on cutting off, literally hundreds of stairs to get into town.
