Breakfast was good and plentiful. location was perfect about 5 blocks in one direction was the National Cathedral. in the opposite direction was the centro market. Independence Square was about 4 blocks away. There were numerous restaurants between the hotel and Independence Square. Casa El Eden was more like a B&B than a hotel. Host could not do enough for you.

It felt more like a bed and breakfast with family-like hosts than a hotel. The house itself is beautiful - incredible architecture and ornate details; it was a lovely place to come home to everyday. Great location to all of the old town sites, 10 min walk to the metro if you’re looking to go further north in the city. Mario, Blanca and the staff are all so warm and inviting - I highly recommend!
Note: I’m a light sleeper so I brought ear plugs as my room was facing the street. If you’re not bothered by evening street noise though you’ll be fine!

Mario and his wife Blanca were fantastic - responding to every question and request. They are the owners and live onsite. The hotel is small, spotless, and safe. I highly recommend!

It was a 8 minute walk to the grande square for some great restaurants. The historic old town is just a few more blocks. Mario suggested LaVid and it was excellent food with great views of thr square. You even get a free taxi ride back. The breakfast was also very good. They are so friendly and have great recommendations.

This is one of the most magnificent boutique hotel I have been too. The property is well decorated warm and cozy. Mario, Bianca and the staff are extremely friendly and generous. Very attentive to our needs. Extremely well located.

Wonderful
Delicious filling and nutritious breakfasts, attentive owners with good restaurant recommendations, convenient location, beautiful building. There was also a large jug of purified water available at all times. Pretty perfect!
It would always be nice to have fewer stairs, but that’s how these historic buildings are made.

Very Good
Mario and his wife Blanca are so warm and welcoming. Casa El Eden is beautiful with high ceilings, lots of detail and a central skylight. Well located on the edge of the historic center so easy walk
The room was overall great but we didn’t love that the shower/sink was in the main room so limited privacy

Wonderful
The location is excellent in historic Old Quito. Our room was spacious and well-appointed. The breakfasts were wonderful. Fruit plate with yogurt and granola, followed by scrambled eggs with butter and rolls. Coffee and fruit juice were delicious. The staff was warm, friendly and informative - Mario was especially helpful. He directed us to a restaurant on the Main Square and it included a free ride home in a cab to insure our safety. A really nice touch!
The walk-in shower is beautiful but if you run the water for too long or too strongly, it overflowed around the edge of the glass divider. Easily dammed off and cleaned up.

This is a beautiful mansion converted and renovated into a stunning and cosy hotel, with lots of character... art, flowers, plants. So many details througout the hotel. I will definitely book into this hotel if I go back and would highly recommend to others... you won't find a better place to stay. The owners, Blanca and Mario were outstanding hosts and made us feel like part of the family. Each floor was renovated to perfection and they have a small rooftop open lounge with beautiful views of the Old City. Breakfast was made to order and was very filling. Mario and Blanca gave us some great ideas as to what to visit/see, where to eat, and were very protective of us. They have a great wine list as well.
There is nothing I can say; it was all good!

Our family absolutely loved this place. We had stayed elsewhere in Quito for a couple of days arriving in Ecuador and at Casa el Eden on our way out. It was 12 of us and everything was perfect. The location is great, the hosts were friendly, kind and very helpful. They organised our transport to and from the airport and made the trip easy and simple. The hotel is stunning and cosy, spotless but with lots of character. I wouldn’t look elsewhere when booking a place in Quito whether it’s just a couple or a larger group like ours.
Short easy walk to the main plaza and also pharmacy which we needed and lots of great dinner options close by. We’ll definitely stay here if we travel to Quito again.
I can both think of a single thing I didn’t like about Casa el eden.
