Wonderful
The hotel is a beautiful colonial building. Breakfasts were amazing, and staff was very helpful organizing drivers to places when we traveled. Only a couple blocks from the metro.

Very Good
The whole staff were very friendly and helpful. From Senor Freddy to Diego and Oswaldo. The beds are comfortable and the food was good. They have a cabinet and safe which were both useful.
The bathroom was too small and it takes a long time for the water to get hot or warm.

Pleasant
Unique place to stay with lots of history. Comfortable bed. Great location if you want to explore. Was only here for one night. Staff are friendly and breakfast was nice.
The room was cold and the amenities need upgrade. I did not have a shower as no hot water and the shower looked in very much need of repair. Carpets need to replaced in room. My room looked nothing like what I booked.

The staff was friendly and made me feel like welcomed family. The breakfast was cooked to order and delicious. Freddy took such food care of me. Helped to arrange the perfect itinerary and guide/driver. The location was safe and wonderfully located! I highly recommend staying here. It is one of my top 3 boutique hotels i have stayed at in 40 years of travel!

Wonderful
Excellent historical house in central Quito. The rooms were very clean, breakfast was great, and the staff were really friendly.
It's an older house so the soundproofing is a bit lacking on windows. However the neighborhood is very quiet at night.

Very Poor
the attitude of part of the staff
1. every day we had to ask for towels and toilet paper
2. there was no fan or window in the toilet, so all the bad smell (sorry) entered the room
3. there was no closet, or little tables by the bed, or any other furniture. although we stayed many nights, the luggage stayed at the floor and we had to exercise to take things out of them
4. the floor was wooden and it made lot of noise
5. we could hear everything from other rooms
6. the breakfast was poor and not enough
7. we had twice plumber problems, one of the times we were transferred to another room (inferior and poorer), second time we spent all night hearing the water from toilet running.
8. AND, the day they transferred us to another room, they served us a little cake instead of offering us some real compensation, but the day we left they asked for 5 dollars. what a shame
9. THE WORST HOTEL EVER

Wonderful
Very artistic and unique decor with a warm, welcoming and homey feel to it. Friendly and helpful staff, they were nice enough to give me a boxed breakfast when I had to leave too early in the morning for excursions.
The room didn’t have its own heating so they gave me a cute fireplace-like space heater. The shower needs to run for some time before the water comes out warm enough.

Very Good
The owners and staff were so friendly and helpful.
Decor was fun & elaborate, but also homey in the lounge area, where one night there was an open fire.
There were spa services on site and I had a very good and reasonably priced massage.
Location was great for walking to the mercantile, park and restaurants.
My room was cold and dark and the shower did not drain efficiently.

Wonderful
The hotel was really good value for money in a nice location very close to the artisanal market in Quito. You can walk to the Old Town etc in around 20-30 minutes, or the Hop On, Hop Off bus stops at the market which is just one block away. The staff were all very friendly and the main reception staff all spoke good English. The room was clean and comfortable, with a nice double bed and good shower room. The wifi works well and there is a small desk and chair in the room. For the price paid, the hotel was perfect for my needs and I had no complaints. The building itself is fabulous, with amazing murals on the wall.
Breakfast could have been a little more generous - scrambled eggs and a single slice of toast only. No juice or alternatives to tea/coffee offered.

facilities were clean and tidy, and at first impression seemed stoic and historic. it seemed like the hostel had a story to tell and was open to being heard.
the wifi did not extend to my room and the shower stalls could’ve used an upgrade (though the water pressure and hot/cold functions were excellent)

The historic building, the decor, the grounds and location in La Mariscal. You’re a block away from the Artisan market and close to several bars and restaurants. The staff was lovely and the breakfast was excellent. Thank you!
Loved it all
