Torre Mar Galapagos Suites was the perfect property for our 4 night Puerto Ayora stay. John, the owner and host, checked in with us frequently to ensure our needs were met. Early morning breakfast boxes, laundry services, comfy robes. Starlinks wifi and daily room clean were greatly appreciated comforts. The bed is comfy, tons of space to store our gear, and a very functional kitchen. I highly recommend this property and we would love to visit again.

We had a fantastic stay at Donna and John’s apartment on Santa Cruz. John welcomed us on arrival, helped with our bags, and gave great recommendations for tours and activities. Communication was always quick and friendly.
The apartment was spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully set up. The beds were very comfortable, the air conditioning worked well, and it was quiet throughout our stay.
The highlight was the large terrace with beautiful views over the town and ocean—we spent a lot of time relaxing out there. We also appreciated the extra touches like beach towels, drinking water, blackout blinds, and ample storage.

The host, John, is a pleasure to meet and get information about the area, tours, restaurants,, and night life. I would have no hesitation in having him book tours with local companies. He knows everyone!
Rooms were clean, well appointed, and HVAC kept everything exactly where you want it.
Fresh breakfast, made for guests on their time, no buffet. Not super fancy, but fresh fruit, eggs toast, coffee juice, and tasty.
Establishment is a few easy walking blocks from the heavy touristy areas, so much less noise, but still easy access.
John is also a nature photographer, and our room had some spectacular large canvas prints on the islands. ?
If we ever make it back to Santa Cruz Island, we will definitely be landing at Torre Mar.

The property was walking distance to everywhere we wanted to go. The owner, John, went above and beyond any expectation of a host. We had flights cancel and ended up arriving a day later than expected. He helped call a local business for us during the middle of the chaos and helped us reschedule a plan. He helped us make new plans and guided us with valuable island information. The place was beautiful and sitting out on the terrace was absolutely perfect. We had an outstanding breakfast up on the balcony. Just every single solitary detail from the stay was superior and beyond any expectation. We are looking forward to not only staying at Torre Mar again, but also look forward to seeing John again upon a return trip! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Very comfortable stay. John was super nice and very prompt at all requests that we made. Suit was very clean and comfortable. It had a water spray outside the casa were could use it post our visit to the beaches to avoid the sand from messing up the entire place. Kitchen was well equipped. There were separate beach towels for use. Overall a very wonderful casa.

Everything is great. The room is big enough and the bed is comfortable. Housekeeping came daily to keep the room tidy and clean. There's enough towels, a drinking bottled container is provided plus a small kitchenette. You have everything you need at the hotel. We can access our suite with a pass code no keys needed. John, the owner, is so hands-on, and the comfort and needs of the guests is his # priority. He goes out of his way to help out. Thanks, John. We're so happy we got the privilege to know you and for treating us with utmost kindness and hospitality.

Large apartment on ground level with private patio. Lots of cooking utensils with tea and clean drinking water supplied. Walkable to everywhere in puerto ayora but a bit of a walk if you are mobility impaired. Decent internet. Awesome owner, very available and allowed us late check out with extra charge.
The photos show a terrace view, which is available but shared and in another building. We did not use it during our stay, though did you the awesome patio.

We were delighted with our apartment which was even more lovely and spacious than it appeared in the photographs. It was super comfortable for a family of four, fully equipped with everything you could need (including a coffee maker!) and is perfectly located a stone’s throw from the main strip of restaurants and shops. The beds were also very comfortable with quality mattresses and bedding. The breakfast terrace was an added bonus and the breakfasts were five star - fresh fruit (and fresh fruit juice!), home made granola, eggs à la carte and all beautifully presented at a time to suit you. Best of all, we really appreciated the helpfulness and responsiveness of our host John. Nothing was too much trouble and this was hospitality as never before! We will definitely be staying here again if we’re lucky enough to one day return to Santa Cruz!

Host/Owner was great. Bed was nice and comfortable. Nice linens and large space with kitchen.
Solar water heater seemed to only have hot water when showering during sunlight. Which happened only once during my stay. Cold showers otherwise. Wifi was not good. Router seemed to reboot often, throughput was not nearly as good as nearby restaurants, where I went to work on things. Could have used some coffee in the room.

Every need had been catered for and John was an excellent, friendly and welcoming host, checking daily everything was well. His attention to detail was exceptional. Fabiola cleaned our apartment daily and was warm, friendly with a delightful smile and happy demeanour. We truly enjoyed staying in his apartment.
The location was central and access to the centre, a multitude of shops and restaurants were within easy walking distance, and although the area felt safe and everyone was friendly as we found walking everywhere - many of the surrounding streets and buildings were in states of disrepair typical of under developed countries.

I had a lovely stay at Torre Mar! It was walking distance to the shopping area but still away from the noise you would expect from a popular area. John was very inviting and helpful. He allowed for an early check-in (availability) and helped carry my luggage up. His friendly assistant, Panda (the dog) was also super lovely and kindly walked me out on my day of checkout.
The room was clean, equipped with a drinking water dispenser, a functioning kitchen amongst other much needed amenities. A place I’ll recommend staying at.

Everything. The owner, John Garrete. has remodeled these suites with every Western style convenience. I was constantly amazed at how everything was so well done and thought out. John was such an incredible help in arranging our trips to Pinzon and Bartholomew. He went over and beyond to help us by loaning us wetsuits, masks and making sure we were happy.
It was about an eight to ten minute walk to the center of the town where all the restaurants, bars, stores, coffee shops are located but after a few days we were glad we were out of the hustle and bustle of of that area and were staying in a more quiet local area.

Torre Mar is located near plenty of shops and restaurants. The apartments were spacious and beds were comfortable. When one of the TV's wasn't working right, it was replaced with a new one the next day. Donna and John, the owners, were very helpful in accommodating us and provided us with helpful information on all things Galapagos, as it was our first time on the island. Both speak English which made communication so much easier. We would definitely stay there again.
I'm sure it is not the owners fault and has something to do with the sewer system, but having to put used toilet paper in the trash can, rather than the toilet, took some getting used to.

The apartment was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. It has a well equipped kitchen that we did not use because we were out all day. We were able to enjoy a cup of tea in the evening at the beautiful terrace by the apartment. The beds were super comfortable and there was a daily room service. It is well located about 8 min walk from the center of Puerto Ayora. The internet service was good, we just used it to answer e-mails and to navigate the internet for information about the islands. The owners of Torre Mar, John and Donna, were extremely kind and super helpful. American Airlines lost our luggage and they helped us to bring them from Baltra airport to Puerto Ayora so that we did not have to change our vacation plans. John also helped us to organize different tours that were excellent. When we left to take a 7 am ferry to Isabella Island, John and Donna prepared for us a goodie bag with crackers, cookies, and juice boxes. It was very sweet. We really enjoyed our stage at Torre Mar. Thank you John and Donna!!

The Host Donna is incredibly nice, she asked before on how I want my breakfast to be served. Even I went diving, she prepared it as to go.
