Beautiful place with kitchen and nice outdoor space. AC worked well, hot water shower nice. We weren't going to cook much but some oil would have been helpful. Taxi was arranged to meet us from our flight. Walkable to the center of town but a long walk, however in town taxis were cheap at $1.
We had read reviews regarding how helpful Mercedes, the owner, was and booked partially because of that. She was unfortunately in the US during our visit and her lovely housekeeper Sara had no English and struggled to understand my Spanish so there was no help in sorting out choices on the island for boat trips, restaurants, ferries, how to take a bus, etc. There were no other guests to ask at the time of our stay. Cash is king in the Galapagos so security boxes are important. There was none in our apartment so we opted to just do our own housekeeping where we had to bring so much cash and leave so much of it in the apt. Sara misunderstood this and asked a neighbor who spoke English over. He started out by insulting us, making accusations and continued to spew nasty remarks at us including, I'm just doing this as a favor to Sara, not you., telling us we should book across the street(no signage that there were even accommodations across the street) and we made no remarks suggesting we didn't like the place. In the future, do not ever get "help" from this belligerent neighbor. That part was a very bad experience. Wifi was good except in bedroom and bathroom.

The location was wonderful, easy walk to everything, our hostess Mercedes was very kind and helpful although I had to use a translator app because my Spanish was inadequate… after 4 PM there is an unbelievably delicious empanada stand that pops up in a lot of block down the street. We love that we could use our Netflix account in the master bedroom and the kids were comfortable in their twin room. Decent hot water, plenty of purified drinking water provided. Very clean. Felt very secure with the locked courtyard.

The rooms matched the photos perfectly. All clean, odor-free, and very quiet at night. The beds were comfortable, there was always hot water, and the air conditioning worked well. Very good location, you can walk anywhere pretty quickly. Mercedes was helpful and always available if we had any questions or needed assistance. There is also a kitchen in room. We had a great time and had a great rest after an active day! I would recommend staying here!

The Finch House (La Casa del Pinzón) is your best bet in Puerto Ayora if you are travelling like us with small kids and needing space and amenities for cooking. Perfectly located a couple of blocks from the port and main attractions, we enjoyed the calm and green of this place. Our hosts were particularly attentive to our (many!) needs. We had an excellent stay here and would stay again!

10 minute walk from the main tourist area, helpful on a weekend to avoid late night noise. Private courtyard made the property feel very safe. Very good a/c unit. The host was so lovely and welcoming.
Room on the main floor has a bad ant problem. No warm water for showers, refreshing after a hot day however.

Mercedes is a very very nice host and very attentive. For my stay I felt a bit at home, I liked the beautiful place a lot, also because not being in the center of Puerto Ayora. The patio is great for reading outside even when raining.

Very bright, well stocked little two bedroom apartment. Very comfortable. It's a few blocks from the main tourist strip, so it's very quiet. People in the neighborhood are very friendly. The host has put attention to detail. Nice gated flowered area as you enter. The air conditioner in the living room was sufficient to cool the bedrooms for sleeping. It's very safe.

My “room” was definately a guest house! Bedroom in main area, kitchen , bath. Had everything you need. Clean, good water pressure and the manager/ owner Maria is friendly and kind. She is so helpful! There is a common area with table outside and a little courtyard full of flowers. Air conditioning isnt listed on the ammenities but its there. Taxis are easy to hail or you can walk easily to the town area.
I cant think of anything I didn’t like.
