The host family did everything to make me feel at home. A beautiful place full of plants in a quiet nice neighborhood a 5 minute walk from the historic district. My room had cool air coming through, a view of Cuenca, and was super quiet. Comfy bed and a kitchen to use. I highly recommend this stay in Cuenca!

The room was basic but clean. I asked for a second floor room at the back with a view of the cathedral, which was nice because the room had natural light, which some of the rooms don’t have. Location is about 6 (flat) blocks from the main square at the centre of the old city, snd there was daily room cleaning. The hosts (Sylvia and her mother) were very accommodating and responsive, like arranging for pizza delivery for us one night when it was raining so hard we could not go out, and waking up early at 5:45 am to call us a taxi to go to the airport. Breakfast was half a block away at the Secreto del Volcan cafe and was excellent, with the option to add fruit and yogurt for $1.50 more. As a tour guide said to us, the place is excellent value for being in the old city.
Normally it would have been very quiet but due to the Independence Day weekend festivities, there was music in the distance all night. Pillows were a bit hard and the bedding could have been nicer.

A little north (up the hill) from the center, so a quiet place to rest and only a short walk to town center. Beautiful historic home. Family run (3 generations of women), who can provide you with lots of information and get to practice your Spanish. Breakfast provided in a nearby cafe. Kitchen available for cooking. Comfortable room (ask for a unit with a window of the Cuenca church all lit up.

Booking states that no prepayment is required for the rooms.
After booking, an advance payment of 50% of the booking is required for a confirmation of the reservation, which must be made externally via a payment service provider via a link and not via Booking.
On the day of check-out, we discussed with the lady who had received us on the day of departure that it would not be a problem and would not incur any additional costs if we left our luggage in the room until the evening when our flight departed.
On check out we were insisted on 50% of the cost of an extra night and threatened to report the situation to Booking as misconduct.
The additional costs were justified with an earlier check-in and late check-out, which we had agreed to, as already explained.
Apparently, communication within the staff does not seem to be working.
A concession of an additional 25% instead of the 50% of the costs was not accepted.
In addition, the hygiene and cleanliness of the rooms leaves a lot to be desired. Here are a few experiences from our overnight stays:
Dirty bed linen
Dusty rooms
Outdated, dirty bathrooms, hair on the washbasins and on the toilet cistern
Dirty, not mopped floors
One of the blankets was hanging on the floor in one of the rooms after check in and was full of dust and hair
Based on these experiences, I cannot recommend this accommodation.

Hosts were great. Bed was very comfortable. Room was quiet and had nice view of the cathedral. Kitchen was clean and well stocked.

Lovely lady, beautiful old house with an atmosphere, small but clean and cozy room with an awesome view of the city center. Good, hot shower. Small, well equipped kitchen available and plenty of seating in the covered courtyard. It's under a 20min walk from the bus station, under 10min to the main park and there is a small corner store nearby so I found the location great since everything is close but the hotel is on a quiet street.

One bed was past it's prime and had no support. We could hear rats inside the ceiling to one room, as well smell them.

Very lovely hosts, hot shower with high water pressure, nice room, comphy beds, quiete area if there wouldn't be the chickens yelling at night, very good equipped kitchen. The supermarket "Aki" is 8 mins walk. 10 mins. Walk to the centre, 15 mins. Walk to bus terminal.
Would be great if there would be a terrace and drinking water available.

The owners and family were exceptional! So welcoming, always willing to help. I even spent Christmas Eve with them! They have maps to help you, they call cabs for you. A wonderful experience! Definitely recommend! And I will be back next time I am in Cuenca!
